Re: Were you ever suspended from school? If so, why? Was it fair?

yes i was accused of having a weapon in my locker, not showing up for school for one day and for writing threatening letters.

Well they opened my locker no weapon, i didn't show up because i was to "be gutted" that day and the one letter that i did transport to another girls locker was written by my BF at the time who asked me to put in this girls locker and i had no clue what it had said (this was the threatening letter) so after all that i got one day and a few days of detention.

Never had a detention or a suspension in all the years I went to school.

Not that I followed the rules 100%- I just knew how to not get caught. And when I did I got myself out of it.

Yes, but I cannot remember what it was for. ISS is the worst punishment.

Re: Were you ever suspended from school? If so, why? Was it fair?

I had in house suspension for I think 2 days once...

I went to catholic school and when we were moving my mother forgot to mail in the check. So, since my payment was late, they put me in in house suspension. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon so stupid. At least send me home if you are going to do that, instead of making me sit there all day staring at the walls with others who were actually in trouble for something. I didn't do anything wrong.

I did though on another occasion get 30+ days of detention in one shot. I needed to leave lunch 5 minutes early yo make it across the school to the gym to meet my friend so I could borrow her sneakers bc I forgot mine and was on the verge of failing gym. I asked to leave early, I explained why. The teacher on lunch that day was being a total douche. When he turned around my friend pulled my arm and said let's go!! so we ran out. Basically, the douche teacher literally chased me down the halls. When the bell rang and everyone came out of their classrooms I thought I was home free, but he caught me and brought me to the office. Then he wanted me to give up my friends name and I wouldn't do it... and I had a bit of a wise attitude as well. So they gave me a lot of days. Each day you don't go you get 3 more days. I didn't go to any of them for over a week.... and my dean called me in her office to find out what the situation was because she's never seen anyone ever with the amount of detention days I had. I explained it all to her and she told me to go to one of the days. I did that. And then she took them ALL away from me. Douche teacher confronted me to ask how many days of his detention I went to.... I happily said ONE. hahahaa! I still smile at this story.

I had other detentions throughout the years, one was for not wearing the uniform pants, another was because my button down shirt was courteroy and not cotton... another was my skirt was too short... and I guess others were for being late to class (we had 4 mins to get to each class and if you had a class on the 1st floor on side A then had a class on 4th floor side B... it was kind of hard to make it).

ETA: No I don't think my in house was fair at all.....

Never.

My brothers did-fairly regularly and they were justified. One is a teacher now too which I think is ironic.

Re: Were you ever suspended from school? If so, why? Was it fair?

The only time I ever received detention was completely unjustified. I was given detention once by my 9th grade English teacher. I did not deserve it at all. He thought that I had someone else write a term paper for me. He thought that the thoughts expressed in the paper were "too advanced" for a ninth grade reading level. He made me stay after school and redo the paper. I did it. I was crying the entire time and vividly remember how angry and upset I was that not only did he not trust me, but that he did not think I was capable of the work. He read my second paper on the same topic and then said that I must have written the first paper. He just said I could go. Well, through tears I told him he had to apologize to me in front of the class the next day. He had humiliated me that day in class - calling me out in front of all of my classmates - I was furious. He apologized to me the next day in class.
