What age did you/will you give DC peanut butter w/ poll

I am thinking of giving Jack PB tomorrow - I can't really say it's the first time because I know DH sneaks him some peanut butter things - so I guess it's the first time he will get a full on PB&J sandwich.

My ped said it was fine after 12 months.

When did you do it - or are planning on it?

You know how old DD is and we haven't tried it yet. We have no allergies in our family thankfully, and we have eaten it and then interacted with DD a few times with no issues...but there's just something in my head that says I'm waiting until she's 2...you know she won't like it anyway

Bella's had it a handful of times...I think we tried around 1yr. She's also eaten peanuts (shhh don't tell) And no reaction...thankgod!

I can't remember if my ped said no until 2 or 3 - but I'm going to wait until he recommends it. She has had things that have been processed on machines with peanuts or nuts - but I haven't actually given her a product with nuts yet.

But just imagine - what if that's the ONE thing in life that she loves!!! How much easier would that make things for you!

No allergies of any kind in our family, but we still held out until about 22 months with DS. Once DD came along, she had it starting about 13 months. She wanted everything her brother had!

we did at 12 months, but i also had him tested for it (b/c hes allergic to egg whites) and he came back fine for P&J. He really likes it!

Christopher had it at 15 months, I think.

He doesn't love it (Mommy does ) but he will eat pieces of a PB&J if Chris and I are eating them.

My DS has celiac so he cant have wheat, oat, barley and rye. Needless to say I am so nervous about the nut thing. He just turned 2 and his doc just the other day said most docs rec. to wait until 2 some until 3. Hes defintely come into contact with it and has had no reaction. Ill probably wait a few more weeks and try.

I waited until Alex was about 19 months old. Emilia got a hold of the pb cap and had a reaction. So she is going for testing tomorrow but the dr said she thinks it is a peanut allergy Which was a big fear of mine.

ped wants me to wait until 3 because DH has a lot of allergies.

real early 11 months or so-she loved/loves it

Sarah was over 2. Andy was a little over one, but he had multiple food allergy tests by then and I had them include peanut every time so I knew he wasn't allergic.

DS just had it for the 1st time recently (about 20 months)

I was going to wait til he was 2 but I walked in the other day and he was sitting on the kitchen floor with DH and they were sharing a spoonful of PB. At first I but then i laughed cause they were so cute.

No allergies in the family and he loved it! He's had PB&J a few times since.

my ds has a very severe peanut allergy. i was lucky enough to find out before he was a year old because he broke out in hives after i kissed him after eating peanut butter. it is very scary. i asked his allergist about dd and he said he would test her at 2. i hope she does not have it but i plan to treat her as my ds...no peanut products whatsoever.

My pedi said it was fine after 12mos...he actually said any food is fine after 12mos

DS at 12 months and DD I think was 15 but I knew for a fact she didn't have allergies to it because she was tested.

Ped hasn't given the okay yet but we're holding off anyway. No allergies in the family it's more of a personal choice.

I was going to discuss with peds at her 15m ck up. Last night we went to 5 guys burgers and ordered her fries.. and as I was leaving I realized they were cooked in real Peanut oil.. so didnt give her. I was thinking of waiting until 2, but if peds says its okay to give now, i may just do so.. Hopefully no reaction and she loves it b/c this would be soo much easier at lunch.
