What are you doing first?
Is your baby going to straight to crib, or are you doing the bassinet/co sleeper first and then transitioning to crib as the baby gets bigger?
I just feel they are so tiny and the crib is so big, but what do I know, I am clueless about this kind of stuff lol.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Re: What are you doing first?
Bassinet... I feel the crib is so big, plus gotta get used to the feedings every couple of hours. Going all the way to the babies room every two hours seems like a lot. Having the baby next to me the first month or so will be easier then eventually get them to go in the crib... Hopefully that works.

Re: What are you doing first?
We used a bassinet for baby #1 until he was 3 months old. We are doing the same for baby #2.

Re: What are you doing first?
I'm not bringing anything baby related into the house until she is born and home. So most likely she will sleep in the pack and play until the crib is delivered and set up.

Re: What are you doing first?
We're using the bassinett first, only bc I do not have room for a crib at the moment. But I wouldn't have ben against putting the baby right in the crib if we did have the room.

Re: What are you doing first?
Probably a bassinet we're borrowing from my brother. If he didn't have one for us to borrow then would go straight into the crib. We're only in a 1 bdrm apt so even if we put the crib outside of our bdrm, it won't be far.

Same here. We just ordered furniture and there's a good chance it won't even arrive at the store until after is born. Since I'm planning on BFing, I may keep the baby in the bassinet part of the pack 'n play in our room for the first few months.

Re: What are you doing first?
Our bedrooms will be about 10 feet apart, so, I think we'll go straight to the crib.

Re: What are you doing first?
Our house has small bedrooms, I would love to use the cradle that my great-grandfather made, but I really don't think it will fit in our room, it might fit with a little finagling of furniture.
If I can't make it fit it'll be the crib, I'm not comfortable with co-sleeping and the nursery is right across the hall so the s/he would only be about 10' from us.

Re: What are you doing first?
Bassinet in our room for the 1st few months, then we will transition him to the crib in his nursery. I want him by our sides in the beginning, it will make it a lot easier for middle of the night feedings etc.

Re: What are you doing first?
I am using a brand new bassinet that my friend gave me for both of them. Then they will share a crib fro a few months until they can roll over-we may be moving when they are 4 months or so. We figured it would be easier to move 1 crib in the box than all put together

Re: What are you doing first?
My twins are going in a co sleeper for the first couple of months. Until they really start to move around i'm going to keep them in there so it's easier to feed on demand.

Bassinette (well co-sleeper) I will BF again, and the co-sleeper was a life saver with G.

Re: What are you doing first?
We kept DD in the pack n play bassinett for 10 weeks and then moved her to the crib. It made nighttime feedings easier, but we slept better once she was in her own room.

Re: What are you doing first?
Right now the plan is a combo of the Pack N Play in our bedroom and the crib.

I did the same and plan to do it again.
BEST decision (esp if you do not plan to BF) it was so easy and DS slept through the night fairly early this way.

Re: What are you doing first?
We used a bassinet for 3.5 months for baby #1 and will do the same for baby #2. First it is much easier for feedings when the baby is right next to you. Second, I feel that the baby comes out of your tummy and is so used to being in a small place, so a bassinet or cradle better resembles this. I feel bad putting a newborn in a big crib. That being said many people put their newborns straight to their crib and it works out great. I think it is completely your preference.

Re: What are you doing first?
I'm putting a pack n play in the bedroom and will keep her there for a while, but will try to have her nap during the day in her crib. I thought a basinette was a waste of money and no one offered me a hand me down. I think a tiny baby looks cute in a big crib!
