Re: What are you doing first?
Crib first, but only because it will be in our room. If I had the crib in a different room, I would start out with a bassinet.

Re: What are you doing first?
crib only in her own room. I hated having my first DD in my room with me- she was out after 2 nights. I much prefer to get up & nurse her in the rocker in her own room.

Re: What are you doing first?
I think we are going to use the moses basket for a couple of months and then switch to the crib.

Re: What are you doing first?
I plan on BFing with this baby as I did with our DS. Therefore he/she will be in the bassinet first and then move to the crib after a couple of months.

Re: What are you doing first?
In our room. We did this with DD and the crib transition was fine.

Re: What are you doing first?
PNP with the bassinet feature. We are not buyung a crib until after we move into a 2br apt. Baby will be about 4 months old when we move.

Re: What are you doing first?
Well with DD I BF so I wanted her close to make it easier (I also had a csection so I didn't want to have to get up and go to her room at every feeding) so I got a bassinet and kept her next to our bed for a while. If you are BF I would highly recommend it b.c it made feedings so much easier - you can just reach next to the bed and there you go.
If you aren't planning on BFing than it is a more personal decision. It is nice to have the baby with you for a little while - but some people feel they have to put the baby straight into another room so that they can get more sleep. It is a very personal decision.
We never felt that it hindered our sleep to have her in the room with us vs going to her when she woke at night for feedings - for me it made it easier to go back to sleep b.c she was so close.

Re: What are you doing first?
She's going in the crib from Day 1. I've heard too many horror stories about transitioning infants from the bassinet to the crib. My nephew threw a complete fit and stopped sleeping altogether. I'd like to try to avoid that.
I think we will have the crib in our room for the first few weeks or months, and then we'll just move the whole ensemble to the nursery.
