what do you bring to someone's bbq when you are a guest....
i hate coming empty handed, and i just dont have alot of time like i used to, so cooking/baking something is out of the question. my friends said not to worry and i dont have to bring anything, but i hate doing that.
any ideas for something easy to bring to someones bbq??

Some cold beer or a nice bottle of wine, a bunch of flowers or some cookies. I agree, I hate showing up empty handed!

I have had people bring a watermelon to my BBQ which I actually thought was great. There are always so many cookies, cakes, etc. so it was nice to have some fruit to add to the mix!

Beer & either an Appy, or dessert. I usually ask what the guest needs, and take it from there.

I have also brought mini-cupcakes from the bakery, ice cream bars, chipwhichs or fruit tray from the supermarket, bottle of pre-mixed margaritas.

I always bring a bottle of wine, or a case of beer, or something from a bakery.

We almost always bring beer to a BBQ.
Depending on who is hosting, sometimes we will also pickup a bag of ice ... you can never have enough ice for drinks at a BBQ!

Beer and sometimes we will bring the watermelon roll from Friendly's (you can get it at the grocery store too). It's always a big summer hit.

The cheesecake stuffed strawberries take about 30 minutes to make. Otherwise a box of bakery cookies. Those are ALWAYS yum.

I like to make tortellini salad and bring it to BBQs. It's really easy to make. If I just don't have the time, I'll usually bring beer/wine/alcohol.
