What do you give your child's daycare teacher?

I have always given my son's "school" (it is a nursery school) teachers cash, it is a private school so I feel that is okay. My DD is 13m and in a traditional daycare 3 days a week, I LOVE her two teachers and honestly feel I cant GIVE them enough...how much would you give for the holidays?

If she only had one main teacher in a room- I'd give $100 gift card
If 2 main teachers - $50 gift card each each.

For the holidays, I give less than end of year...

Considering it's only 3 days a week, i would do $30 each...maybe $50

I was just going to ask this. This is my son's first year of daycare. I think we are giving $50 each to his 3 teachers.

Wow, really? $50 or $100 seems generous. My mom was a nursery school teacher for 20+ years and her holiday gifts were usually a mug or a picture frame or something like that.

Last year I gave each of DS's teachers a nice basket from Bath and Body Works. I spent about $25 each. I will prob do the same this year, but now with 2 kids it's double the teachers.

For any people regularly employed throughout the year to do work for you (cleaning person, babysitter/daycare/nanny, dog walker, etc) I would give a week's pay as a holiday bonus. So I guess if you're dealing with a daycare that has more than 1 person caring for your child, divide that amount by the number of caretakers.

I do $25 ish gift or gift card for the teachers...then I have 10 assistants etc to buy for I usually spend 5-10 on each of them and then send in cookies/brownie or bagels

I gave a big gift to my DS's two main teachers in the infant room last year for the holidays. 75 dollars each. They were really great and I felt went beyond. This year I am stumped because he just switched rooms. There is one main teacher but there is also other assistants too I see with him so I don't know. It was easy last year because I knew there just two main teachers.

This is my first holiday with my DS at daycare. Do people also gift the Director and assistant director of the center? They do fill in in my DS's classroom when one of the teachers is out or if the ratio is off for the day or part of the day. Just wondering what others do.

DD is 6 months old and her classroom has one main teacher, an AM assistant and a PM assistant. Because DD has early drop off, there are 2 teachers in the early drop off room who care for her everyday from 6:45-8AM when her actual classroom teacher comes in. I think I am going to do Target gift cards (for some reason, I personally feel weird giving straight up cash). I was thinking $75 for her main teacher, $35 each for the classroom assistants, and $20/$25 for the early morning drop off teachers.

I was going to ask this as well, but my DD goes to a home daycare that has two co-owners and 1 assistant that I had met, but they have since grown and I believe they have more assistants there now. Was going to do probably Target or Visa GC but unsure of how much.

I have 2 DS's in daycare. One goes 2 days a week and one goes 3 days. They both have 3 teachers. Last year I did $30 each b/c DS2 didn't go yet. This year, I can't afford that so I'm doing $20. I get amazon gift cards.

I think $50 and above is VERY generous.

Also, I did get the director $20 last year b/c she sometimes fills in in the classes and I really like her.

I used to give gift cards. But they're annoying and like $5 to buy so I started cash. $50 per teacher. They're were 3. I never gave the director anything. Now at preschool she has soooo many teachers, assistants and part timers. So her two pre school teachers will get $50 and maybe $20 for the rest.

I was just going to post this question. My DS has 3 teachers and they are all highly involved so would have to give them the same amount. They have been so loving and caring with him. DH and I have been debating what the appropriate amount to give them would be. Aside from xmas he is also moving up to the toddler room in January. DH thinks $25 each. I try to be very generous when gifting to my DDs daycare teachers. Usually I gift between $75-$100 to each teacher. It is the least I can do when they take such wonderful care of my most precious item (my DD). I also give $25.00 to the girl who is the program director..She takes our payments, handles our calls, issues etc...

i got everything from candy to gc's to $$$$$. Depending on the family. It was all very much appreciated. For me, I give my kids teachers $$$. Money or gc's (if you don't like to give cash) seems to be the best and most useful. I will probably give between $50 nd $75

My son is in school/daycare 3 days per week and I got his 2 teachers each a personalized scarf with their initals and I am also giving them $25 gift cards as well. So about $40 per teacher.

Last year I did $50 each for 2 main teachers and $20 each for 3 early AM/PM people. DD goes full time 5 days a week.

I did target gift cards last year and will likely do the same. Who doesn't love target?

We have 8 teachers (4 for each kid). We will probably do $40 each. Maybe a small token $5 gift or something to open. Will see if I find anything cute and cheap
