What do you use--Rashes and Excema

Hi girls,
I'm wondering what you all use if your babies have excema or get rashes/blotches easily?? My doctor had me cut down Matteo's baths to 2 times a week, and to use the Cetaphil to wash him. Even with that and lathering him up with that and Aquaphor, still is itching at his chest/neck area. I used the Hydrocortisone cream, not the ointment, but I don't like to use it a lot. When it flares up like this, I'll put it on maybe 2-3 times a week.

What am I doing wrong!!??

I think that him itching it is making it worse. This happened to my sister-in-law's son... and he ended up getting an infection. Try covering his hands!

I hope he gets better.Chat Icon

They key with eczema is to catch it before it rashes. I lather DS with Aquaphor, only quick baths every other day. I also have a RX for Protopic which works great and I use at first sign of a flare up.

Re: What do you use--Rashes and Excema

Thanks!!!

I did get a prescription but then the doctor said not to use it just yet. I only used it once. I'm keeping a bib on him to keep him from getting under there and scratching too much.

Does anyone use the hydrocortisone creme?

I tried everything - Aquaphor, all natural oil from Whole Foods, Aveno, etc and the only thing that worked wonders on my DS was Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream and GN Cradle Cap lotion. I got both of them at Babies R Us and it cleared up his scalp and face within a few days.
