What I wish someone would have told me about labor...!!!!
Alright those of us that have been there let's share.
What I wish someone had told me was that I would be vomitting through most of it.

I wish someone had told me that my breath would smell so bad!! Seriously, they don't even let you have a mint, I would have like to not offend everyone I spoke to!

I didnt ask nor wanted to know about it simply because every sitatuation is diff.
I labored for 6hrs, felt it all. Started at 12, got intense, Lost my MP at 3am, by 6:30am ish, I was a full 10cm, rushing to hospital, and gave birth in a matter of 10min, no drugs, pushed 6 times and felt ALL. Baby out!
I didnt get sick, I just got the contractions in front, then they got severe and went to back.
SO, lets see who gets lucky like me!

I heard it ALL before I delivered DD...
NONE of the "awful" things happened.
I had a very easy and quick delivery.
Total opposite of what I was expecting.

I honestly think that nothing can happen to me that I have not heard of. I am not saying this b/c I am expecting some easy labor but I am saying this because between certain family members and coworkers - I have heard every disgusting, horrifying and painful thing that can possibly happen to someone in labor.
This in no way makes me more prepared for labor, just p!sses me off.
ETA: I sound so ANGRY! I am in no way referring to this thread LOL I didnt know about the breath or the chap stick so it is helpful - just what goes on around me

I wish someone would have told me to pack chapstick. My lips were so dry during labor that they cracked and started to bleed. It was horrible.

Let's see..... Umm.
No one told me about the nasty drink they make you drink before you get an epideral. ( I threw mine up)
No one told me how painful it was to pee after giving birth. I think I peed once a day just because it was so painful!
No one told me that they give you stool softenres after birth. The day after I gave birth, I was given two. Needless to say I was in the bathroom all night with the runs
I think that's about it.

I wish someone told me it would be easier than what everyone made it out to be, and that I had nothing to worry about or be scared about....that the horror stories were just that..horror stories.....

I had to drink something...it was green, I think it was an antacid...they gave me ice chips to chase it down so it wasn't so bad and it wasn't a lot.

My friend just had an unmedicated birth and the worst thing she said she was unprepared for was 4 straight hours of vomiting at 8-9cm...

I forgot that after the baby is out you get shakes like crazy. My teeth were chattering and everything. I was also freezing cold, and still vomitting. But the pushing/labor itself wasn't all that bad. Actually I felt nothing thanks to the godsend I call EPIDURAL!!! LOL

Labor sucks. I don't recommend it. I never voluntarily say that, but if someone asks me what it is like, that is my standard answer.

The one thing that happened to me that I had never heard of before and was totally unaware was that I had busted the capillaries on my face during pushing. Needless to say the pictures afterward were not that great!

Its not as bad as ppl say it is and I am sayhing that after I pushed after the epidural wore off. I felt everything and I would do it again and again.
Also that if you have eyeliner on you will look like a crazy mother effer when your done pushing so dont take pictures or let anyone see you until you look in a mirror. DH let me look like a freaking retard for like 2 hours with eyeliner all over me and took pictures, I didnt know until i saw the pictures how horrible it was.
