Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
If I have to buy - I prefer
Victoria's Rao's (only when on sale) Bertolli
I also will buy a container of homemade sauce from my local Italian deli if I don't feel like making my own

Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
Rao's is good but I just tried Sauce Boss (Joe Gannascoli's - Vito from the Sopranos) sauce and its incredible. Sunday Sauce is excellent!!!

Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
Barilla is the only one I can stomach. (I'm Italian so it's practically against my religion to eat jarred sauce).

My MILs.
Lucky for us she jars enough of her own so if I'm not in the mood to make some, I always have a backup.

Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
Thanks everyone. I was going to try Rao's until I saw it was $10 a jar and I needed 4 jars. My DH almost fainted in the store . I went with Classico and it was good

Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
Before I started making my own sauce--classico. But seriously, our sauce only takes maybe 30 mins to make because we never add meat. It's a lot quicker and still tastes great. Sometimes we will add zuccini or spinach to make it more interesting.

Re: What is the best jarred sauce?
my mom always used Ragu so thats what i like.
I've tried some others and they were eh.
although Bertolli organic is pretty good too.
if there is an italian store near you, they usually sell the quarts of marinara..which is the best!
