What is the etiquette for infant play dates?
My 7 month old is having a playdate with a 9 month old this week. It is our first. How do you handle the fact that the babies put everything in their mouths? Do you bring your own toys? Do you clean everything before and after? Thanks!

i would assume the babies will share toys and put them in their mouths. i would bring my own toys and clean them before and after. you just cant stop a baby at that age from wanting to put things in their mouth.

Re: What is the etiquette for infant play dates?
had a playdate at my house yesterday with DD (7 months) and my friends son (11 months) they shared DDs toys. Both kids put a lot of them in their mouths. We said "hey, what can you do, they're kids" But, we are both pretty laid back..I guess oit depends on the moms. I would never expect someone to bring their own toys to my house.

Agree....I have a diaper bag devoted just to toys for Andrew. I usually wipe them down every night before I put them away at night.

You should see what goes on at my daycare center...
I just think there isn't much you can do to stop the spit swapping at that age!

They will share toys. This is why I think the true etiquette is to not have a playdate if one of the child is knowingly under the weather (runny nose, fever, etc..)
