Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
We're team - DH didn't want to know b/c he felt it was one of those few GOOD suprises you have in life and suprisingly, I didn't mind not knowing. I thought I'd die from the suspense, but since everyone else is about it, I'm not
PLUS, we have the awesome excuse of saying we don't know what names because we don't know the gender (but we have the general idea of what names we like )

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
It was never even a consideration for us to want to know the gender...I have always wanted that big finale..
Funny part is, by nature I "am" a planner but to me , the ability of painting pink or blue in advance completely pales in comparison to being in that delivery room and my DH getting to announce "Its a XXX " !!!!
I went on major shopping sprees the minute my fingers hit that keyboard when I got home on my computer and before you know it, my DS was in blue overalls and DD is frilly dresses Not to mention ALL the gender specific stuff my generaous friends and family brought to the hospital..
There are no words for staying team and thats why we are doing it for yet a 3rd time around

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
I wanted to be team but my husband really wanted to find out. I knew he wouldn't be able to keep the secret, especially if it was a boy. The more I thought about it I was open to finding out and when it came time was very excited to find out. I wanted that surprise of what we were having but now it will be the surprise of what our little is going to look like.

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
First time around I was team green. The surprise was great, etc.
Now I have a 19 month old son. I am pregnant, commuting into the city 5 days a week for 14 hour plus days from now until April.
Things are just busy - work, my son, my husband. This time around I feel finding out will take some of the pressure off in terms of being ready to go. Bedding, clothes, etc.
I made the decision to find out - for me. My life is pretty stressful, if this makes things even a little bit easier on me, I am all for it.

For the one friend who didn't know what she was having, we were all dying to know what it was going to be and what the name could be....and the excitement surrounding all the guesses and speculation was pretty fun.

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
It was difficult to buy anything w/o knowing. And I wanted time to adjust to whatever sex the baby was. We are having a hard enough time now coming up w/a name... IDK what we'd do w/o a few months planning. lol I think it's more exciting w/a first one too. If I have another I might go green though.

We are finding out. People give us the "so few surprises in life" line constantly...but won't we be just as surprised at 20 weeks as we are at 40?? To me I don't see a difference.

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
I was team until we had a medical scare that would only manifest in a boy, so at that point we decided we had to find out, to mentally prepare ourselves for the difficulties that might be ahead if it turns out we were having a boy.
Thankfully, we do not have this issue, and the baby seems to be in perfect health. But it put things in perspective to us that the "surprise" isn't really what's important, it's that the baby is healthy, so we decided to still find out the sex.

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
The reason I wanted to know had nothing to do with paint colors or picking out the right gendor clothes. Not that there is anything wrong w/ that... just not MY reason.
I wanted to be able to name him/her and call the baby by name. When I was pg w/ I spoke to her by name everyday. We read her books and already included "Danielle" in our conversations.
This time, I was on the fence, b/c what the PP's are saying, it's one of life's fewest surprises that are left. We also went through a lot to get pg w/ this baby, so, in the end it didn't matter to me, just as long as the baby was healthy. DH wanted to find out, so we did. We just got our "surprise" a little bit early.

Re: What made you decide whether to be Team Green or to find out the sex?
for my first we didn't find out and it was FUN - everyone had a guess and theory. It was a lot of fun. But I had GD and had a sono every single week for my last trimester and it was hard/annoying to not look and remind the techs i was team green. Plus I had an emergency C Section with an oncall doctor and I had to ASK what the baby was -- not the 'baited breath surprise' I anticipated at all. It was a bit of a let down.
This time I am already dealing with GD and have been to 4 sonos already (week 15) .... Figured lets find out now and plan ahead this time. It's OK.
