what to do to change a cat's behavior

if its even possible!

last year we bought our son a cat. he loves her like crazy. the cat however being only a year old and full of energy loves to stalk us while we walk around the house diving out from under the furnitre. but she absolutely claws him when she does and he get petrified. now i can't stand her because she hurts him and we have a newborn that i will go crazy if the cat claws her when she starts crawling. declawing is inhumane....what do you do

There's something called soft paws that goes over the existing nails that prevent damage/injury from scratching.
