What verification does an infant need to travel by plane?
We are flying to phoenix in 2 weeks...I never received his birth certifcate and tried to research the info...it says to bring a certificate to prove the child isn't 2 years old yet...but unless I express order it, I won't have it in time?
Did anyone else not have a birth certificate for their infant and was able to board them ok?

I just did this the other day... They told me to bring DD birth certificate but they never checked it. Maybe cause it was perfectly clear that she was under 2 years old.

I hadn't planned on flying home from NC with DD but needed to so I didn't have her birth certificate. When they asked for it, I just said I didn't know I needed it and I didn't have it. I had no problem.

I've traveled about 10 times combined with Jack and Molly and I've never been asked for a birth certificate for either kids.

I have flown twice with DS. Both times they just asked how old he was, never checked anything- maybe because he is so young?

We mostly fly Southwest and they have asked for one since he was 14 months. We forgot it once and they let us go but made it clear that we need to bring the birth certificate with us.

Same here! And this was various difft airlines. Jet Blue, ATA and Southwest.
