And if you have step-parents, will they have special names, too?

grandma (first name) & grandpa (first name)... for both sides...

we dont have any step parents...

ILs are Greek so YiaYia and Papou. My parents haven't decided yet.

IDK.

I think probably DH's parents will be nana and pops... idk. i think that's what the other kids call them... so i'll just keep it the same.

and my mother... IDK. grandma I guess.

My mom wants to be called "Grammy" since that's what she called her Grandma, & I called my Grandma that.

DH's parents would probably be Grandma & Grandpa unless the kid decides to call them something else and it sticks.

MIL: Grammie
FIL: Pop-Pop Moustache (or just Pop-Pop)

my Mom: Gramma D (thats what her other grandkids call her)
my step father: i don't know yet, I think Grandpa.

My parents were supposed to be Grandma & Grandpa
My Mom's only request was not to be called "Grandma Lucille" - she just hates the way it sounds .........

MIL and FIL never said anything and I asked multiple times -
MIL thought Sean would 'just come up w/ something on his own'
Um, ok - he's going to pull a name out of NOWHERE ? Brian calls her Mom and I call her Pat .........so, he's going to know you as one of those unless we teach him otherwise !!

Sean sees my parents all the time, and we always referred to them as Grandma & Grandpa - but one day Sean just came out w/ "Papa" for my Dad -
So, he's Papa ........and then he came out w/ "Moma" for my Mom -
which now that he's speaking a lot she's trying to get him to call her Grandma b/c he CAN say Grandma now, but he still calls her Moma .......

FIL he calls Grandpa b/c for the once in a blue moon that he sees him, he repeats it when we tell him to - and MIL he refers to as Grandma Pat - again, only when he sees her and we tell him "say Hi to Grandma Pat' - Sadly, if he saw her on the street, he wouldn't know who she was ...........

my mom - Grammy
Step-dad - Grandpa

my dad - grandpa
step-mom- her first name

MIL & FIL - i dunno bc we haven't told them yet and they have no other grandchildren. they can be called whatever they want!

my mom - Gee or grandma or whatever my son calls her - i thought for a while it would be Gaga

My dad - pop pop - that was what his dad was called

my mil - gammy
my fil- papi

i let everyone pick there own name

we had planned Grandma and grandpa, but my son came up with these.


MIL - abuela

"MIL2" - yaya
"FIL" - abuelo

(aunt and uncle who helped raise DH)

Grandma and Grandpa on my side.
Not sure on DHs side since it is their first grandbaby. Will ask them next week when we share the news.

My parents are already Nana and Grandpa because of my nephew. DH's parents will be Grandma and Grandpa.

My parents want him to come up w a name for them on his own.

Mil will be granny mac

In laws will be Nonna and Nonno and my mom will be Grandma. My stepdad I am not too sure about yet.
