Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
Stay away from credit cards
Go for teaching instead of Communication ( I would be tenured with a nice paying LI job now if I had done this )

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
Give other career options that you don't think of as "smart careers" a chance. I thought I had to be a doctor or researcher to feel smart. But really, I just need a career that makes me happy.

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
It's not ok the way he treats you. Do not marry this man.
Leave Boston after your divorce.
Life is so short, enjoy everything that you can, and tell your family how much you love them

- Say No to credit card debt - Stand up for yourself more - You're away at college - take advantage that all it has to offer (don't come home so much)
And to my really younger self: - Wear your retainer

Just one thing:
It's okay not to have a boyfriend and to spend time alone.

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
To RELAX!!
To go right to nursing school and work at MMR part time.....It seems like forever, but it's really not.
That Jamie's not the one
That Nick's not the one
The one is somebody you never would have imagined
To enjoy your family...they're all you have
That life changes...change with it, not against it

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
hmmmm, this is hard because all of my crappy experiences have put me in this amazing spot now, so I don't regret them.
I would tell myself I guess.
The boobies will come (to my HS self) You'll get over Joe eventually (to my college self) Life without my mother is a better one (just a general note) You'll be best friend's with your Dad after 22.

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
- SAVE SAVE SAVE
- You're pretty
- Trust your gut, he's cheating (ex)
- Take a friend on the cruise, not the guy you recently started going out with
- Start college right after secretarial school & go straight through to your masters
- Re: masters, specialize in something, don't just do ECE
- Let it go, it's not worth it

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
-after my first major break up (4 yr relationship), I'd tell myself to stay single longer, and have more fun....but then again if I did that, I might not be with DH now!
-relax, you don't have to take care of EVERYTHING yourself
-I'd tell my teenage self to cherish the time w/ my dad, since he wouldn't make it past my teenage years if only I could take back some of my "rebellious" time to just hang out with him

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
oh wow - I have lots!
*Don't sell yourself short b/c you doubt your capabilities or are afraid of what people may think (I was so busy trying to fit into a certain mold that I missed out on a lot of things I would have liked to do)
*Practice a healthy, natural lifestyle - as you get older you realize how important that is (I used to smoke, ate fast food everyday and never exercised. I was always thin back then so I didnt think anything of it, now as I'm regressing back to a much more healthy, natural way of life and working out and caring about my health I realize how valuable this would have been if I would've incorporated it years ago!)
*Only about 1/4 of the things you stress about actually warrent stress. (I am total type A and perfectionist and stress over everything...now I'm a very anxious person and I hate it. I wish I could've continued being carefree like I used to be. I think I got caught up in stressing mostly in college)
*Travel - get out and live life! Don't be afraid to do it on your own. (I'm in the process of this goal now, but I see so many younger people having done so much travel, either HS trips or studying abroad or taking a year off to backpack thru Europe, I wish I would've considered that rather than rushing into the real world)

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
To myself two years ago -- don't go immediately back to eating carbs when you just spent four years avoiding them = "marriage weight"!
To myself six years ago -- this guy is a keeper (well, I did tell myself that but I didn't want to believe it!).
To myself in college -- have more fun and hang out with people regardless of whether they are cool or not!
To myself in high school -- relax! I was too Type A (well, still am).

Me first: "You are not fat! Enjoy yourself."
(I am getting ready to go to the beach and I am squeezing my butt into a bikini that it shouldn't be in but, it's a wednesday at the beach, who am I gunna see?
I am running around looking for some kind of beach coverup and remembering me in in high school. I had a teeny tiny bikini with no supportive cups or full coverage bottoms and I wore a belly bracelet. A belly bracelet. I drew attention to my belly. But I still thought I was fat. I don't even think that belly bracelet would clasp now.)
Also: "Give a little more effort to your grades. You are smarter than you think."
Your 40-year old self just called me a minute ago... told me to tell you that "you are not fat and you look hot in that bikini - go flaunt it"
LOL.
PS - I remember that belly chain! You were so cool! LOL.

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
-be more patient with my parents, because i'll be exactly like them soon enough
-you don't always need to be the one worrying about everyone else - worry about yourself!
-savor the part-time jobs and summer adventures. create MORE of those stories you'll still be telling 15 years later.

Re: What would you tell your younger self, if you could?
Break up with that idiot, he's not right for you.
Tell your sister not to marry the cheating ******* instead of minding your own business.
Spend more time with Mom.
Be smarter with your credit cards.
Stay in school.
