We took DS to GA when he was 5 monts... but we did visit family..

He went to Jamaica at 13 months...

Honestly- for me- the younger he was, the easier he was...

I'd say right after they've had their shots. Honestly, the younger, the better, in my opinion. At least when they're newborns, you don't have to chase them!

We took Miranda to Disney and the Disney cruise at 7 months. I probably would say 5-6 months. Once you have some kind of routine established but honestly I probably wouldn't pass up any chance to go on vacation.

For us, we really can't do non-family vacations with Jack at this age (2). He doesn't sleep well, we all wind up being up all night and it is just miserable. But visiting my parents in Florida is like a resort vacation with free babysitters, so right now we stick to that.

Depends on temperment. Some kids are very adaptable and easy going, so you can take them anywhere and expect that they will still sleep and be pleasant. Others (like my sweet darling) thrive on structured routine and would not be so much fun to travel with for a while!

same here...DD is on a routine and when it is broken she is miserable. she is 11 mths...I think it would have been easier when she was even younger. we are going on a 3 day family reunion in August and I am nervous about that..

We took DD to Puerto Rico when she was 5 months old and she was great. I think it would be easier when they are younger.
