Whats your Household income
Anonymous post - but I was reading an article today and it said the medium 2 salary household income here is about $93K, just curious how accurate that is.
Anonymous poll..........

Whats your median Household income
I answered pre-tax NY pay. But take home pay there was actually a LOT less than our take home pay here in Texas even tho we make less gross.

Whats your median Household income
I also answered pre-tax. I think that the average median income is somewhere in the 100-130 range, since most starting salaries are around 50k

its hard to figure out DH post tax cause he pays hourly so it varies every year.
i can say what you bring home after taxes is usually a lot less at least for us it is .
the amount of taxes taken out is just crazy. we have been getting a decent amount back from taxes but not nearly what i pay into it!

Me too - I wonder if people answered for their total household income - instead of median? Just thinking based on the posts of the tax refunds that the number would be skewed lower...

I just realized that I did that. The median of mine is a significant difference from our total household income.

Re: Whats your median Household income
I answered based on pre tax incomes of both DH and I. For ex: Husband makes $85K and wife makes $60K, 85+60 = $ 145K. Now, $ 145K may sound like a high HHI to some of you but once you factor the high cost of living, crazy property taxes, etc in Long Island, its actually peanuts..

but, the MEDIAN is not $145. The median of the example you gave is $72.5K
