Whe do you stop waking a newborn to feed him/her?
This last week DS has been sleeping great. I think we may be onto some kind of schedule.
Last night he slept from 8:30pm and didn't wake up to eat until 3:30am. Thats 7 hours!! Should I have woken him up to feed him before this? When does that whole "don't let them go 4 hours without eating" end? DS is 1 month old tomorrow.
Edited to add: he is eating about 23-25 ounces a day.

I never had to wake her. My ped said since her weight is fine, no need...she'll wake you
ETA: at night we are up to 6hours sleep

I never did. They were both average weights at birth and there was no need to. If your newborn is sleeping 7 hours for you, that is a blessing!!!!

My ped told me the same thing. As long as he is gaining wake I do not (and have not) need to wake him.

Re: Whe do you stop waking a newborn to feed him/her?
Great to hear that you all let your DC sleep until they woke up to sleep. DS is above birth weight (which was big to begin with) and growing/eating fine. Let sleeping babies sleep then!!

Re: Whe do you stop waking a newborn to feed him/her?
I was told to never wake my DD to feed her as it will encourage them to wake during the night for food. The only reason I can think of to wake your child for a meal is if they are underweight - they will wake and let you know if they are hungry.

I only woke her the first week if she was sleeping more than 4 hours during the day. I never woke her at night.
