When did you start the transition from formula to cows milk?
I know it should be done "around" the first birthday, but can someone define "around"? How is it done? Mix formula and milk in one bottle ounce per ounce until the bottle is all cows milk?

I think I started at 11.5 months. DS took 8 oz. bottles and we did a gradual transition, following the direction of the ped. that went
6oz formula 2 oz milk
half formula, half milk
2 oz formula, 6 oz milk
all milk
I think I went through each stage for about 5 days and then increased the milk. Luckily, my DS loves milk, so it went pretty smoothly for us.

We started after her 12 month ped visit. We started with 2 oz of milk 6 oz of formula and then 3 oz of milk 5 oz of formula. Each day the amount of milk grew and fomula went down. It took less then a week.

we started at 12 months b/c DD was sick just before her birthday. we went in intervals of 2 oz. of milk more every couple of days. It went smoothly, except for some constipation. Now if I could only convice her to drink more than a couple sips of milk out of a cup!

After we got cleared with the PED at DS' 1 year old well visit. We slowly transitioned over a 3 week period to make sure he was fine with it.

We did it at 11 months. We did 1oz milk for three days, 2oz milk three days, etc. As per doctor's orders.
But now that we are at a full bottle of milk for a few days, my son is sooooo constipated. I feel so bad for him. I wish I knew this was going to happen.
