When did you start using the sippy cup or cup with straw attached?

DS is 5.5 months and officially holding his own bottle and drinking at least 3 oz with out help holding and he is on last weeks left of BM, so we have been adding a little formula every day, when can i put some formula in a sippy cup or the cups with the straws attached inside?

He is always reaching for my drink if i am using a straw.

We started with a cup way early - like 4 or 4.5 months. DS was EBF and wouldn't take a bottle, so I was thinking we might bypass bottles altogether and go straight for a sippy. He does drink milk from a bottle now, but loves water from his sippy cup. Initially he liked that was a transistional cup - a rubbery spout that half nipple/half sippy.

I put formula in it (and water). DD is a fusspot with her bottle and sometimes I can actually get her to drink it better with the sippy. However, she knows when it's not water and sometimes pushes it back at me.

I'm trying to introduce it now (at 6 months) but DD seems to just chew on it!
