when did you stop using baby monitor?

Just curious.
I still have a monitor in DD's room, she will be 4 in January. I guess its just habit that I still use it.

I barely use it now and DS is only 15 months.

oh man, I'm definitely interested in hearing what other moms do with this. DD is 4 years old now and I still use a monitor. I still need it! If she has a nightmare or needs to go potty and it's too dark in the hallway, etc, etc, then she calls me and there's no way I'd hear her from across the hall. It's rare, but does still happen from time to time. I'm planning on buying a new monitor pretty soon here that has one of those talk-back deals. Kinda like a walkie-talkie so I can respond to her without having to get up every time. My sister has one of those for her foster son who is 6. I plan on going with it until there's a long timeframe in which she no longer calls or needs me at all during the night.

By 2.5. We took her out of crib and into a bed. No point in the monitor after that, as she just waltzes into our room for whatever reason.

I still use mine at 3.5 I like beign able to look in if I hear him banging around.

Still use mine at 3.5. I can't hear him otherwise, unless he's screaming, and the monitor has a walkie-talkie feature so I don't have to go in his room for everything.

my daughter is 2.5 and I still use it...with no plan to stop anytime soon
At night, it scans between her and my sons room (he is only 15 months old). Its basically so I can hear if she needs to go potty or anything. And to be honest, i use it during the day. She likes to play in her room sometime with toys her brother cant have, this way I let her close the door fully and I can still keep an eye (and ear) on her

Stopped around 14 months.

He's just such an amazing sleeper.

If I want to check him out for some reason I just walk in there... it rarely happens that I do need to but if I want to that's what I do. He almost never opens his eyes when I go in the room --- the rare times he does: he opens his eyes, looks at me, says HI, and then just rolls over and goes back to bed

He will be two next month.

Looking back, had I known, I wouldn't have spent so much money on a monitor -- or I wouldn't have registered for an expensive one. I barely used it.

DD will be 4 in a week and DS is 2, and we still use one for both of them. Honestly, I don't intend to stop using it anytime soon. We can't really hear them in their rooms from our room, so it is nice to know that we can check in on them if they wake up in the middle of the night, etc.

DD is almost 3.5 and I still use it. I have it flipped down on my night table and if I hear her, then I will turn it over to see what she is doing. Sometimes she whines and cries in her sleep (and talks in her sleep alot) so it will save me the trip from getting out of bed and going into her room.

I have a feeling I'll stop when he's 16. lol (Just kidding).

My son will be four on Monday and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. In fact, I have my second son due in December and we're buying the dual camera monitor so we can watch both of them.

I like being able to see WHEN he falls asleep, especially for his naps. (yes, he still takes naps.)

My twins are 4.5 and my youngest is 3. They all share a room and I still use it. I'm about to move them boys into their own bedroom and I still plan on buying another camera for it.

Dd will be 5 in dec and ds is 17 months and i have the monitor go between both rooms all night and dont plan on stopping anytime soon

I don't get how anybody is able to turn off/get rid of their monitors. lol. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I get so nervous she'll get hurt (fall out of bed or something weird like that) or have a bad dream and I won't hear her calling. Or if she gets sick and throws up or coughs excessively to the point of needing medication, more water, etc. She can easily get to my room, but the hallway is dark and if she's scared she'll just call me. I'd never hear it without the monitor. I don't know WHEN I'll be ready to be rid of it. Hopefully before she reaches high school. haha. I kid. Maybe when #2 arrives I'll find myself using hers less, but I don't know.

I still use a video monitor for my 4.5yo. When he's upstairs playing in his room, I like to be able to hear him at all times.

Dds are 5 and 2. I still use it. Dd1 usually comes into our room but if she's sick ( throwing up) she doesn't. I hear her crying for me. They tend to get stomach bugs. But just for peace of mind for me.

Plus with our air cond on I would never hear them crying

DD will be 5 next month and I still use it. She still naps most days so it's helpful to know when she falls asleep/wakes up so I know if she needs a nap the next day. I really don't see ending anytime soon, she seems to like that I'm keeping an eye on her too

With our second child!

We used it when the first one was 2-4 months old.
Never used it with the second (realistically, we can hear the kids when they need something... Sometimes I wish we couldn't).

My girls are 3 and 5 and I use it while they are sleeping. I can't hear them without the monitor on and they still call for us for various reasons.
