I had DD in the regular tub by 6 months. I wasn't worried about tub germs at all.
Same - I just clean the tub more often...

As soon as DS was good at standing up, I bought him a bath mat from Target. He likes standing up and taking a shower instead of sitting for a bath.

Around 5/6 months we switched to the inflatable tub... still in that at 16 months. I use less water and she's cushioned all around, she doesn' t mind it one bit so she'll stay in that for a while.
This is the one we have, I think it's by leachco:

we have the same one. Stared using it around 6 months and at 13 months DS still loves it. So much easier than filling the whole tub.

not sure exactly when but before 1 year.
She loves it. moves all around from one end of the tub to the other.
Bonus is I dont have to store the toddler tub anymore.
