When did you tell your immediate family?

My husband and I haven't told anyone about the pregnancy yet. We went to the doctor last Thursday and we were 6 weeks and 3 days. We are due on July 11th. The doctor saw the heartbeat. She didn't say anything about it just that it was there. We are 7 weeks tomorrow. We were thinking about telling our parents and siblings on Wednesday and Thursday this week. We will be about 7 weeks 2/3 days when we tell them.

When do you think is a good time to tell family? Did you all wait until the first trimester was over?

My husband keeps trying to google it to find what other people have done- it's cute, but annoying. I don't know what to do. I don't know if we should wait or tell them.

When I got my BFP. We had to tell someone.

We told our close relatives at around 8 weeks.

We told our families last week, I am due July 14th a couple days after you. I am going to tell my job the first week of Dec, after my first sono

we told our parents at 8 weeks...will wait to tell the rest of the family after our next apt or might even wait till christmas, but i doubt i will be able to wait that long..

I havent told anyone yet. I'm 7w1d according to my LMP. For some reason though I think I O'd a little sooner and think I might be closer to 8 weeks now, though I wont know until I go to the Dr. That being said, I havent been to the Dr. yet. My appointment is on December 1, 2010. I am going to wait until Christmas to tell my mom, step-dad and DH's mom. By doing that we will have to tell the rest of the family as well. I'm just not comfortable doing it any sooner. I dont know why.

We told our moms and my brother (that's it for our immediate families) at 8w. We saw the HB at 7w1d but that was on a Monday and we were waiting until we could see them to tell.

we did IVF and our families knew we were doing it and they know we struggled to get pregnant. so as soon as we confirmed the heartbeat at our first sono at 6w1d, we told those closest to us. DH did tell his younger brother the night we got our BFP... and i told one select friend that night too.. but these are both people that were entirely trusted.

We told our patents and siblings right after the dr confirmed it. All extended family members found out at 12 weeks

We told our parents first, at about 8wks. Then told siblings next, at about 11wks. The rest of our family and friends we told at 13wks.

I told everyone about an hour after I got my BFP...at 3 weeks. I can't wait, and I would want my family to be there for me if anything happened anyway.

We told our parents at 8 weeks...we didn't tell our brothers and sisters until 12 weeks.

we just told immediate family on friday - which was 13w 3d

We told our parents and siblings within a week of getting our BFP.....

Everyone else we started telling around 8-9 weeks.

But it wasn't a BIG full fledged announcement until 11 or 12 weeks. It was way too hard a secret to keep inside.

we told our parents at just under 7 weeks. We told our siblings a few days later. We wanted to wait until our first sonogram to make sure everything looked good!

Pretty much within a week of getting our BFP. . . or at least immediate family (parents/siblings/best friend) .

My thought was and still is that I told the people that I would tell immediately if something went wrong . I think there is no right or wrong it's just so individual for how you feel comfortable sharing

We were doing fertility treatments so my immediate family knew what was going on...I told my sister within a few hours of my BFP and my parents when we got our BETA results back the next day!

We share the same EDD! We are planning on sharing the news with our entire immediate family on Christmas Day.

I told my parents at 5 weeks. We told my husbands parents at 6 weeks and our siblings at 7 weeks. I sort of spilled the beans to some friends after that, but we waited to tell mostly everyone else until I was 14 weeks.

we plan on telling parents and siblings on Christmas. I will be 10 weeks.

I was 9 weeks with this one, I think 8 or 9 weeks with DD. BOth were IVF pregnancies so I had multiple sonos by that point.

we told once we heard the heartbeat - it was around 6/7 weeks. We only told immediate family and waited until 9 weeks to tell the rest of the world

told my mom and DH's best friend - 6 weeks

told my dad and brothers and DH's parents - 8 weeks

hard to keep it in!

telling the rest of the family on xmas - be about 13 weeks
