When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
Sydnie is in the 90+% for height and weight but I thought I would get more than 6 months out of the infant seat. We go Monday to the ped and I am sure she is over 27" and over 17 lbs
When did you move DC into rear facing convertible seat?

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
DD was 9 months when we switched...I don't remember her weight though, but she's always been 50th% for weight.
I tried to keep her in it through the end of winter b/c of the convenience, and she was still fitting in it ok when we switched at the beginning of spring.

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
We did it at about 9 months also. Wait for the nice weather. Right now it's nice to still have her warm and bundled up in the car seat and you don't have to take her out

We switched when he was about 4 - 5 months. He hated the infant seat. He loves sitting up like a big boy.

We took DD out at 7 months. It was just too heavy for me. She went right into her Britax (rear-facing).

I'm probably going to switch him soon, he is 19 pounds and 26 in at 4 1/2 months. My biceps just can't handle it anymore

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
At DS's last ped appt. he was just shy of 29inches & weighed 19 1/2 poiunds. The weight limit for our seat (Graco Snugride is 22 pounds & 29 inches for length).
So babyzilla moved into the big boy rear facing convertable seat this week......1 week short of 8 months old!!!

A rear facing convertable car seat that when they reach the proper age & weight & height requirements that you can make forward facing!
We got a Britax Marathon for my car & a Graco Comfortsport for DH & the sitter's cars.

Same here. Makes my life more difficult having to get big sister in the car also but it's a lot less to carry - that car seat with a 19 lb baby in it was HARD!

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
You can get a rear facing convertible for as light as 7lbs. *shrug*
So I guess when you feel comfortable enough to have her in one, I say go for it.
I'm waiting for warmer weather. I like her all bundled up for now. But I want her out for the car seat carrier because its just so damned heavy and awkward
going to buy one with tax return and hope to have it in use by March/April
So that will be what... 7months or so

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
We just switched maybe a week or two ago. So when ds was 7 months old.
He always hated the infant seat and is much better in the convertible since he can see more.

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
Ryan is pushing 8 months and still in the infant seat.
On Friday he weighed 19.8 and was 28 inches.
Our infant carrier is 30lbs 30 inches...but his feetsys are pretty close to the edge.
I have been trying to get him to stay in it through the iciest/snowiest part of winter approaching. But I think I should give up hope and switch the the rear facing convertible.
He is really too heavy to lug around in it anyway.

DS is 5 months and 95th% for height. I am STRUGGLING with him everyday putting the carrier into my truck. I'm counting the days till it gets a bit warmer,a nd then we are done with the carrier!

Kristina was at around 6 months old.... I just couldn't take lifting her out of it anymore....
She was 18lbs, and I don't remember offhand how many inches, but those 18lbs with the 10lbs of the seat.... phewwwwww

Re: When did your DC grow out of the infant seat?
A year old....but she is petite.
I miss her infant seat, she falls asleep in the car and it was so much easier to go from place to place.
