When do you switch to a booster car seat
I know it's probably no time soon for DD (she's not 3 yet), I'm just wondering when, I have no idea.
Thanks

We switched DS on his 6th b-day, and plan on doing the same with DD (maybe later, since she's smaller than DS)
Absolute minimum is 4 years.

4 year old 40 Lbs
But that's the minimum!
I would use the carseat as long as possible. It's the safest!

Do you have one of the carseats that hold up until 40-60 lb? If so I would keep her in that as long as possible. The minimum like the others said is 4 years old.

Yeah, I do. Sounds like we will keep her in it for a while longer.
We are thinking of TTC soon so of course I jump light years ahead and think, "well would I have to buy another big carseat in addition to the ones we have to buy for Owen or will we have Claire's hand me downs by then".
This is the needless clutter that fills my brain

Re: When do you switch to a booster car seat
Well, my DD is 3 and big for her age. She is 41 inches and 37 lbs. We have been concerned because her head is starting to inch above her seat. So I think we'll be looking at the high-backed booster pretty soon.

I plan to use a 5 point harness for as long as possible, hopefully until 6 or so
