When, if ever, did you bring someone besides DH to a sono?

My mom has repeatedly brought up how she'd love to see a sono and get to hear the hb. I'm only 7 weeks so there's no way I want her there this early. I finally told her to please stop asking me, that if my feelings change in the future I'll let her know. I knew she'd be upset over this but I just find it annoying that she keeps bringing it up.

Did anyone else experience anything like this? At what point would you feel comfortable bringing someone other than DH?

I've only had DH at sonos and at 29 weeks I don't think that's going to change. I just don't feel comfortable having anyone else there. But that's just me. It's a personal choice. Maybe you'll feel differently when you're no longer having internal sonos.

My mom was up visiting for my 32 week appt so she came with me. Wasn't sure if it would be a boring appt, but b/c she was there OB did a 3D sonogram and spent a lot of time showing her and printing her pics. He doesn't do that for DH, LOL.

Crashing, but I brought my mom to a few OB appts. Sometimes it was a sono, sometimes it was just to hear the HB. It was usually when DH couldn't come because of work.

I also did the Impact 3-D sono and brought DH, my mom, MIL, my brother and my BFF.

I have a very close relationship with my mom so it was nice to have her there and share that with her. I guess it depends on your relationship with your mom, though.

My parents came to a bunch of my sonos near the end of my pregnancy w/ the boys. I was going for sonos 2 - 3X a week and they were visiting, so I thought it was cool to have them there.

I have my 16w appointment tomorrow and my mom is coming and will hear the heartbeat.

She was asking too and I thought it would be nice to have her there.

Thanks ladies. I think when I'm further along I'll be okay with it. But for now, it's just so early that I'm still nervous that everything will be ok. I also feel like this early, the baby is tiny and changing so much from one week to the next. How could I let DH miss that? I just wish my mom would understand my reasoning a little more bc I know she's hurt.

My mom came with me to one of my routine appointments with DD1 (my OB does a quick sono every time), my sistercame to another one.

DH hasn't been to any appointments yet this time. My mom came to the Level 1, I went to all others by myself.

ETA: Why can't you have both your mom and your DH there?

I guess since my DH isn't really into it this time (it's old news for him I guss ) and was over it after the first few appointments last time- I don't really get the whole "DH will be missing out." I think we, as women, are more interested than they will ever be! lol

I had my mom come to one, with my hubby! (I'm an only child and my mom and I are very very close!!)
I think I was around 16 weeks or so....

maybe after your 12 week sono you could have your mom come with you? or maybe have both DH and your mom? i think even just to hear the heartbeat, she would be so excited.

i brought my MIL with me to one appointment in a pinch because DH couldn't go and she heard the heartbeat and got to see the sono. she was almost in tears. it really means a lot to them.

i've never had any desire to bring anyone other than DH to an appointment and definitely don't think there's anything wrong with that!

My Mom came with me to an appt because DH couldn't make it. She loved the experience.

Since I'm having twins so I have lots of sonos ... Too many for DH to come to every single appointment.

I brought my mom to my 12 week sono bc DH couldnt make it and I knew she would love it!

my mom came to our 12 week sono. I was happy to share that with her ETA, she was over the moon.

DW was at all sonos till my 25 growth sono. DW and mom cane to 20w level 2. my sister came to 25w growth, my 2 aunts came to a preterm labor screening, bc I knew they did a little sono to check heart beats. I'm having twins soI have sonos all the time.

After 12 weeks. My parents came with at 12 weeks... only to hear BAD news about my screen. They were so traumatized!

With baby #2 we had my mom & DS at 16 weeks. Honestly... mom was more excited than DH! My sister is coming to our 20 week anatomy scan. As long as it's one person, the OBs/techs never minded.

So far it has only been DH, when I go for my Level II it will be my mom, brother and SIL if they want to come and DH.

I think it's cute that your mom is asking. She's probably really excited about your pregnancy so I would definitely not be mad about it. Just explain to her that the sonos right now are internal and you don't feel comfortable with anyone being there.

I brought my mom and MIL and DH at the level II wherewe found out the sex.

my mom came with me to one at 13 weeks when DH couldn't make it. It really made her day and i was glad I invited her, when we had our level II and were finding out the gender I asked DH if he minded if she came with us and he said of course not, so we invited her and again she was so thrilled to be there when we found out. My sister never brought her to her sonos so I know it meant a lot to her. But if you are not comfortable yet or at all, then that is ok too, you have to be comfortable with it. Does your OB record or sonos? Mine does by request, maybe that will be a good way for her to see the baby moving without actually being there.

With DD #1 only DH went with me. No one else ever expressed interest. My mom did live out of state for most of my first pregnancy though. I haven't told her about this one just yet, so we'll see. She doesn't strike me as really wanting to go though. I would feel weird. Seems like something between DH & I. That's just me though, I'm private about things like this.

At my 8 wk and 12 wk sono it was just me and DH. But at the 12 wk sono the tech told us that the next sono @ 20 wks we could bring family. So we brought our moms. My doc told me that he's had whole families there for the 20 wk. Then for the 32 wk my husband was OOT for business, so I brought my mom.

I brought my mother in law when I needed to run in for an unexpected urgent sonogram after spotting (again) and DH was not home yet from work. Everything was fine with baby and she loved every second of it. DH was jealous he missed (first time I saw baby move) and MIL was bragging how great it was to my mom which made me feel bad. I might try to bring her to one but my OBGYN is only doing two more besides the Level II which I want DH with me then. I might do 3D/4D which I would invite my mom but she is already giving me a hard time- she doesn't understand the technology and thinks its dangerous.

I agree with you- at 7 week bring your DH as long as he is available- its internal and so personal! Once its sono on the belly you may feel more comfortable.
