Re: when to bring parents to doc?
I haven't brought my mom but, I wish I had brought her to my 12w ultrascreen. While I was in the waiting room, so many people were there with their families for either their ultrascreen or their 20w level II ultrasound. DH got called for overtime - I was the only one sitting there alone.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
Well since my parents live OOT it has been difficult. But my mom is in town bc my shower was last week & it just so happened that i have a growth sono today. So she is going with me for the first time (she never had a sono when she was pregnant with me). I am going to be 32w tomorrow.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
My DH and I invited our moms to our level II appointment. They are soooo excited. If we decide to do a 3D sono....I'll ask my dad to come.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
We invited our parents to the level II - great appointment to bring them to.
It's a lengthier appt - and they really get to see alot....

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
My mom comes to all of my high risk appointments because they're doing the day and DH can't get out of work and I don't like to go alone. She looks forward to them, they are every four weeks.
My sister came to an OB appt. to see the sono but it was like 15 seconds so that one stunk.
I always invite my dad to come to the high risk, but so far he hasn't...

I would only bring someone if DH couldn't make it. Otherwise, I liked having these moments just for us.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
I am inviting my MIL to our 20 week anatomy scan. Other than that it is just me and DH or just me for the appts.

I brought my Mom with me to my level II. She stayed outside while technician did measurements with DH & I then she came in when the technician was showing us everything.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
I have not brought my mother or MIL to any appointment and do not plan on bringing them. I get along great with both of them, but it is just something I prefer to do with DH or alone.

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
I brought my mom to my 12 week. She lives OOT and was in town for Mothers day. She didn't know i was pregnant until I took her in for the ultrasound. So it was extra special, and probably the only sono she could go to. I don't know if I will bring MIL to any. Our Level II is tomorrow and I want it to just be DH and me.

might be a stupid question but what's a "Level II" appointment?
The level II appointment is a detailled ultrasound - they make sure everything looks ok and can tell you the baby's sex (if the baby cooperates).

Re: when to bring parents to doc?
I invited my mom to a 7-week ultrasound because I knew that that was the day we expected to hear the heartbeat for the very first time. It was very exciting for her as its her first grandchild.
My DH has been to the 2 "big"ultrasounds (12 and 20 weeks) and i go to the rest of the apptmts alone (i'm 23 weeks now).
