When to get walking shoes?

DH and I are having a disagreement on when to get shoes for DD. I said...she should learn to balance and take a few steps on her bare feet...before she gets fitted for shoes. He said...she should get fitted first and that will help her balance and walk.

Your right! Julia was walking on her barefeet first before I got her walking shoes, its better for them to learn that way. Plus you want her really walking well before you buy her new shoes, since they grow out of them every 3 months.

Ok...so I need to find an aricle that says this is the correct method...because DH just laughs when I tell him I "read" this. He said...where do you read these things....LIF

My doctor said it's better for them to be barefoot in the beginning.

My doctor said barefoot is always better. Once DD started walking he looked at her feet and the way she was standing and said she doesn't need walking shoes, just something to protect her feet outside.
