Cell phone is on and usually charging on my nightstand.
During the school year, I use it as my alarm clock, during the summer, I have my daughter for that.
No one ever calls me on it, so I leave it on.

Its always on. Usually its just texts that I dont hear anyhow, but if there was an emergency I would want someone to be able to get a hold of me. Most of close friends have my house number but not all

mine is on vibrate but right next to me on the nightstand. it's pretty loud even when it vibrates and i'm a light sleeper so i'd probably hear it.

Now, I keep my phone on vibrate. But when my mom was fighting cancer a few months ago, I always kept it on ring. Looking back, I'm glad I did since my dad called me in the middle of the night after my mom collapsed at their home and he and my sister had to do CPR on her. Unfortunately my mom passed away that night, and I am so glad that my phone rang and I was able to speak with my dad at the moment he needed me.

I put it on where it only rings if someone calls. It doesn't make noise for text messages or emails.

On Vibrate, my alarm still goes off when its on vibrate. If it was an emergency they would call the house phone.

My phone is on "sleep mode" no vibrating, no ring tone. DH usually leaves his phone on vibrate or a very low tone just in case.

My blackberry is timed to shut off at 1 am and turns in automatically at 6 or 7 am. We have a house phone if anyone needs to call us.

its on vibrate because its my alarm too. i dont leave the volume on because the loud beep would wake up DS.

At home: DH & I both put our cell phones on silent & even turn the vibrate mode off. We have a house phone which friends & family can contact us on in case of an emergency.
When we are not at home: We leave the ring on in case someone needs to get in touch with us.

vibrate.. 99% of issues in my case can be dealt with in the morn... i dont need to be woken up and cranky the whole day bc someone drunk dialed me and i couldnt fall back to sleep

Mine is on phone calls only. If i dont have it on that setting it vibrates all night from e-mails.
