When you left the hospital w/ baby
Were you wheeled out to your car holding your baby, or did DH bring the car seat into the hospital ?
Also - does a nurse check to see if the carseat is installed properly?

Baby was put in a car seat in the room and we were wheeled out.
DS#2 was born at NY Presbyterian. We walked home but we still put DS in the car seat.

My DH brought the carseat all three times. I walked down all three times. The last time I (and my roommate) was waiting for a wheelchair which never arrived. I didn't really need it--I was just hoping to be spoiled.

I don't remember being wheeled out but a ruse walked us to our car and I believe she was the one carrying the baby in the car seat.

They wouldnt let us leave unless DS was in seat.

I didn't get wheeled out either time...booo, and I had c-sections...but I delivered @ St. Catherine's and the exit is right there.
both babies were in the car seats.

The nurse just made sure we had it.
Then I was wheeled out with the baby in the car seat on my lap by an orderly type person.
DH brought the car around front and off we went.
Nobody ever checked the install in the car.

No nurse didn't check. Just waited with me until DH pulled the car up and then went back inside

Same here. I was so nervous for some reason and drew a blank on how the straps should go

I was wheeled out. DH brought the carrier inside and he carried DS out to the car. No one ever looked at the car seat other than so see we had one (that was inside).

I held DD while I was wheeled out in the wheelchair. We put her in the carseat at the car.
No one checked the installation for us, although the guy who wheeled me out did help DH tighten the straps.

Wheeled out both time, dh held baby in the car seat. The car seat was never inspected to see if it was installed.
