Where are the Disney experts? I have a question re: dining
I have the meal plan. The standard one with 1 TS, 1 QS and 2 snacks per day. I have ended up scheduling many days with 2 TS meals so I know I am going to have to pay OOP for some. How do I figure out which restaurants I should just pay for and which ones I should use a meal credit for? I guess what I am trying to ask is how do I determine which meals will cost the least if paying out of pocket? Need specifics to help me? Here's what I have:
Day 1: Via Napoli Day 2: CRT - breakfast, Hoop De Doo for dinner Day 3: Yachtsman Steakhouse Day 4: Crystal Palace breakfast, BOG dinner Day 5: Tusker House breakfast, Boma dinner Day 6: 1900 Parkfare breakfast, Raglan Road dinner

With that many sit down meals (especially the number of 2 credit meals), have you considered the deluxe dining plan?
As far as using the plan or paying out of pocket, you will have to pay out of pocket for the 2 credit TS meals or you will quickly run out of them.

Re: Where are the Disney experts? I have a question re: dining
I agree that with that many TS meals, I'd look into the deluxe dining plan and see if it will benefit you cost wise.
In the meantime you can view the menus and prices online, I would pay OOP for the ones that cost the least. Just glancing at that list I know Raglan Road isn't going to be as expensive as say, CRT. Also CRT uses two credits so not sure you would want to use two of your TS credits on that or just pay OOP.

Breakfasts will generally cost less than dinner. The more expensive restaurants that are 2 credits might not be a great use of credits though. You need to check prices online to know for sure the best use of credits.

There’s an excellent online calculator that I use where you put in all your dining meals and it’ll give you which restaurants are better to pay out of pocket for vs using dining credits. Generally breakfasts are cheaper though. The website is distripplanner.com

I wouldn't do 2 table service in a day- you'll spend more time sitting in restaurants than you will in the park. I would get rid of Boma, Raglan, try to swap BOG for QS lunch
If you are dead set on all of these meals, then you should upgrade your plan.

Re: Where are the Disney experts? I have a question re: dining
I looked into the deluxe dining plan. It's a $700 upgrade. I think we would be better off paying out of pocket.
Here's the deal...my DH has to eat meals. The QS does not cut it for him. He's a giant baby about it. Even for breakfast. Drives me nuts. Grab an egg sandwich and shut up.
Also, we aren't lunch people. We will do a big breakfast and then plow through until dinner with some snacks in between. I'll bring my kids PB&J.
I don't mind the QS for breakfast but for dinner...its eh. Its so much fried, greasy garbage. Are there better QS that maybe I should know about?

I have my mousediners set for an alert for BOG for lunch.
Why would you get rid of Raglan and Boma? I heard they were good. No?

Re: Where are the Disney experts? I have a question re: dining
the problem is that you have a lot of "signature" reservations. The dining plan gives you 1 TS credit, 1 QS credit and 2 snack credits per night of your stay.
Your Plans are:
Day 1: Via Napoli Day 2: CRT - breakfast, Hoop De Doo for dinner Day 3: Yachtsman Steakhouse Day 4: Crystal Palace breakfast, BOG dinner Day 5: Tusker House breakfast, Boma dinner Day 6: 1900 Parkfare breakfast, Raglan Road dinner
Via Napoli is 1 TS credit CRT is 2 TS credits Hoop De Do is 2 TS credits Yachtsman is 2 TS credits Crystal Palace is 1 TS credit BOG dinner is 2 TS credits Tusker House is 1 TS credit Boma is 1 TS credit 1900 Parkfare is 1 TS credit Raglan Road is 1 TS credit
So you are using 14 TS credits and from this list, 0 QS credits. Since your DH doesn't like QS meals, you might be better off not doing the meal plan at all and paying out of pocket for everything. With the reservations you have now and your statement that you won't really eat lunch and just bring PB&J, all of your QS credits will go to waste (you cannot exchange QS credits for TS under the basic meal plan) so why pay for them if you're not going to use them?
Since the meal plan credits are for each night of your stay, if you are staying 7 nights, you will only get 7 TS credits to use.

Riiiiight. Yeah, maybe getting the meal plan wasn't a good idea at all. Yikes. I'm going to ditch some of those breakfasts so we can use the QS. I paid for it so we need to use it.

Set an alert for the BOG lunch with touring plans and it’s free to do that. I’ve had much better success with touring plans.

You can argue that many of the restaurants at disney are fantastic, but out of your list I would remove those and keep the others just to prioritize. They're all fantastic, but my daughter had the most fun at the parades, shows, etc. You're going to miss so much because you'll be sitting down for 1-2 hours for each meal.

Re: Where are the Disney experts? I have a question re: dining
So all those dining plans pretty much went out the window. LOL
Our flight was delayed so we missed Via Napoli. We ended up at Tutto Italia which we really like. We did CRT (it was cute but $290 pre-tip is a bit steep for breakfast IMO. I mean, if I had daughters into princesses it would probably be worth it but for my boys, not so much). We did HDR which was awesome. My boys loved it. We did the Toy Storyland EMH so had breakfast with that. Pretty good. Dinner at the Yachtsman was good but $$$. Like more than NYC prices. Thursday I did QS at BOG which was fine. Friday we did Tusker House for dinner which was awesome. Saturday we did 1900 Park Fair for breakfast. That was a nice spread. Saturday night we did Coral Reef. We were pleasantly surprised with how good it was.
We stayed at the Grand Floridian. I liked it, it was lovely, but definitely not my favorite. I knew it was going to be upscale but I didn't think it would be so stuffy. Our room also overlooked the lagoon where that little boy was taken by the alligator a couple of years ago and I really could not stop thinking about it.
But as usual, it was such a good time. Parks weren't too crowded either.
