Where to buy good quality bedroom funiture?

I'm not looking for the super expensive stuff... Went to Raymore over the weekend, fell in love with a set and have come to the realization that 5k is just too much

Any recs for a quality set that will last long time without breaking the bank?

we are sooo not happy with the high price yet kinda junky furniture that we got from raymour, i am glad that you walked.

if you don't want to spend alot, and don't expect to get a lifetime out of your furniture and will have kids... go to pennys or bobs.

i feel, pennys is a step up from bobs, but don't "own" either of them. i am living at moms and she has stuff from pennys and i am impressed with the quality. it chips, that's the only bummer about it.

if you really like the set from R&F wait and see if it goes on sale - maybe for new years or MLK....that's if you have time to wait...we got our furniture on black friday and i feel like we got a pretty decent deal...

i really don't know...we looked at a lot of places and it took us awhile to find something that we even liked (this is looking at places with all diff types of price ranges) although pottery barn is my favorite store ever but they are def on the pricey side and i bet you can get better quality for less money somewhere else...

the furniture we got is on par with R&F - it's the R&F of the south actually (at least that is what we were told)...

We got a lot of our furniture at Ashely. They have a great showroom and their furniture is real quality stuff plus they are very reasonably priced.

I got a GREAT Hooker set at NC furniture 5 yrs ago. it's still in amazing condition after many moves. We got a lot of pieces for about $3500 which saved us thousands.

Im not a fan of Bobs.....Raymor IMO has better quality. I would check out Ashley. The stores tend to carry the same things at different times cause they dont manufacture the furniture themselves.

We have seen our couch in about 5 different ads at all different prices.

Follow the sales.

we got our bedroom set at bob's for half of what R&F wanted for a similar set, but this is our 2nd service call to them reporting damage just from moving the piece.

we also got a reclining sofa there, and the reclining mechanism isn't working anymore...its only been a year since we purchased it.

Def. check out Ashley. I think they have really good quality stuff and their prices are pretty good too. We bought our bedroom furniture at Tiffany Furniture on Rt. 110 next to R&F. Oh and Ashley just opened a new store on Rt.110 in Farmingdale, near R&F. GL!

Rooms to Go? There are no retail locations here but they do deliver here...i bought my couch from them.

Quality is based more on the brand rather than the store that sells it. Raymour carries a variety of lines. The best they have in there is probably Bernhardt. Bernhardt is a good name, but I prefer Hooker furniture in terms of quality/durability.

I shoped "backwards". I picked out my set after going to a million different stores and then started my research on stores and prices.

I found Lauter's (in PA) to have good prices. They've been in business a very long time. They're very knowledgeable about different lines and prices. I was happy with their service. They had the 2nd best prices I could find.

I also placed an order with Boyle's Distinctive Furniture (NC), which was a risk because they're currently in Chapter 11, but the sales person is very good and helped me get free repairs on my 10 year old living room set. I haven't received my delivery from them, yet. So, I can't really give a good review on my experience in that regard. But, they had the best prices that I could find.

I am sorry if I sound ignornat but $5000 on a bedroom set sounds reasonable. Maybe I am in the dark on furniture prices.

What about IKEA? The designs look nice and are reasonably priced.

Hey Gina- Pat and I bought our furniture from a Carolina furniture direct place.

The company who manufactured our furniture is called Home Elegance. They have solid wood peices. Some are veneered but most are solid. We got a very good price! We also had a good experience with Ashley Furniture as well. We narrowed it down between a set there and the Home Elegance set. We've had the set now since may and it is very durable and still looks perfect.

And, honsetly if you are looking for something to reallly LAST- you are looking at over 5K in price. I mean, probably close to the 10K range. If you want something durable, it's going to be around the 5K range. You could always make offers on furniture and see if they can reduce the price.

We recently ordered bedroom furniture from Costco, the quality seems to be good, dovetailed drawers etc. Costco has a great return policy too so I feel confident.

There's a furniture place in Bohemia - I believe it's called Bare Boards. They sell solid wood furniture you can refinish, or they will refinish it (for a fee) and they see regular furniture sets (like Stanley, etc). They also have catalogs for various manufacturers and you can order from those also. Their prices were very reasonable for the quality and good customer service. I ordered my BR set from them from a catalog (they had another style set by the same manufacturer so I could see the quality) - this was after ordering from NC from a company that never delivered and was under investigation by the Attorney General's office. I was very happy to have such an easy and smooth transaction with Bare Boards.

We got our bedroom set from Stickley. It is their Metropolitan collection. Solid cherry hardwood, dovetail joinery. We have a long bureau and two night tables. It was about 3-4000 for everything. We got it at a store called Bograds in Northern NJ.

I also like Room and Board in NYC for furniture. I tend to like modern, clean line furniture.

Check out Bobs. They sell name brand furniture, they just don't advertise it.

What you do is find a set you like and ask the salesperson for the manufacturer. Then go home and research the prices. It will be a lot cheaper at Bobs than anywhere else.

I got a Lane leather sectional at bobs for half of the price on the Lane website and $1k less than any other place.

Check out Costco and JC Penny too. My old bedroom set was JC Penny and it was <$$ and it held up really well even in my move.
