Re: Which age did you find "easier" 2 or 3?

I like 3
I didn't hate 2

I've been lucky. *knock on wood* Haven't seen anything 'terrible'. She acts up I shut her down. She goes off the handle, I let her vent in her room. She tosses a fit over an object, the object is destroyed or removed. Sure we have our battles but not often and not frequent. I've been lucky she's a good kid.

I like 3 cause she is more independent and closer to me (if that makes sense) we share giggles, hugs, kisses and I love yous. I am (according to her) her best friend. We play dolls and watch Disney movies together. We hide from dad and watch the rain. She likes to play on her own but she likes my company. Every once and awhile, she'll even sit in my lap and let me baby her.

I will say tho, age 3 has created the spanking phase. Twice so far.

3, hands down, the worst age yet. I wanted to sell my DD. As she gained more independence, she became more defiant and fresh. 4 was a welcome relief.

2 was easier....by 3 she was really starting to 'TRY' tantrums! However, we are getting to the end and they have almost completely ended and we can actually start to reason with her more!

DD is 2 and a half. She has awesome verbal skills and is extremely independent.

She's also been a monster. She talks back, everything is an argument. I am praying that 3 is easier than 2 for her.Chat Icon

This was my 2 year old DS. he is turning 3 next month and I'm praying that he gets a little easier. I don't really think it could get worse...

Re: Which age did you find "easier" 2 or 3?

DS is pretty good, but he seemed to turn into a different kid at 3. When he decides not to listen, it's very difficult to get him to start listening again. He's definitely more defiant now. He only turned 3 about 2 months ago, but so far, age 2 was easier.

Yup, I thought I was home free when DS went through the 2's without a problem. 3's have been a rollercoaster! He will be 4 next month and I think I have my sweet boy back for the most part. ((knock on wood)). There were some days, weeks really lol that were likeChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Honestly, my DD is 3 and aside from a little more independence (in a good way) I actually do not see much of a difference between two and three. I have not had to deal with the terrible twos or the terrible threes..........my DD has always been super mellow and very well behaved. (She is an easygoing kid) So far.........I have no complaints about either age, I have enjoyed them both. Chat Icon

Edit.........if I had to pick, I looooove three. She is so much fun to hang around with. We do everything together, we chat all day long, we play and interact.........it is like being with your best friend all day. I love spending time with her, we have a blast together!!

I really thought OMG 2 sucks! but now that I am in the 3's 2 was a walk in the park.

Having a 3 year old is like having a mini teenager with less knowledge. One minute he is happy, the next hes crying, laughing, angry etc all day long.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

For us neither! He had a rough time with both ages (and so did we), though I feel like the period between 3 and 3.5 was calmer. Then all hell broke lose! Now at 4 he's been much calmer, but I'm waiting to see if everything changes when he's 4.5 again!

Well, my older DD was easier at 3, but her younger sister was HELL.ON.EARTH. at age 3 (and it was great that I was very pregnant during the summer/dealing with a newborn during last year's horrific winter during her 3rd year)--and if I might add, she'll be 5 in the spring and things are only slightly better. Chat Icon So, my very professional analysis is that it depends on the kid. But just to reiterate just in case you missed it the first time, my younger DD's third year was HELL.ON.EARTH. Yup... another scared mother of an almost 3 year old boy.

Lately he yells "NO... NEVER!" and slams doors like a teenage girl. Chat Icon
