Re: Which book is better (sleep related)?

I read healthy sleep habits. it SAVED us!!! I've heard good things about the no cry sleep solution.

Healthy sleep habit pretty much explained normal sleep patterns for Alexa's age and what to expect and how to get her on a schedule and read her sleepy cues.

I've heard that the No cry sleep solution is for those who don't want to CIO and want an alternative method. I'm not sure how much "sleep theory" it has like healthy sleep habits.

Re: Which book is better (sleep related)?

I personally found Healthy Habits a little more helpful when my kids were infants. It helped me get them on a napping routine and to identify the cues for when they tired.

The no cry book was more helpful with getting them to sleep through the night.

i don't think I'm capable of CIO, so would you suggest the No Cry Book?

Well Healthy Sleep Habits also goes over a no cry solution a bit, but not really in depth.

That book is good for looking for sleepy cues/timing of naps, etc.

I did not read Healty Sleep Habits, but I did read NCSS and it saved my sanity.

I'm a HUGE fan of HSHHC. You don't have to let your child cry if you don't want to. I found that if you follow the book and get your child to sleep at the right time by watching for tiredness cues and putting them down before they get to that over tired state, they won't really cry anyway.
