We stayed at the Iberostar Punta Cana in the DR.
It was all inclusive.
The flight is shorter than other destinations on the Carribeans. Something to consider also.
They had lots of kids there. It was very family friendly. They had a special pool for children. Very shallow!

Been to both Punta Cana DR and Cancun Mexico w/ my DS and I think DR was better suited (as far as easier for me/DH)...Just about all the hotels are all inclusive there, so getting around isnt an issue- not sure where in Mexico you were looking, but Cancun is mainly buses etc...if you really want to get into town etc...My DS enjoyed both though, either way its a win/win (nice short flight !!!)

I noticed that. It looks like such a nice hotel too.
I was going to surprise DH with this trip but he is so down that I told him about it and he isn't sure if either is safe now and wants to go somewhere safe. To me, if people are still going then it is probably safe.
Was the ride from the airport to the hotel long?
I am so worried with picking a hotel online and falling in love with the pictures only to be disappointed (that happened when I book our california trip).
