White tongue in newborn !!!! Is this normal??
my 8 week olds tongue is whitish yellow at the back and it dosent seem to ever go away ..
why is this and is this normal

It could be thrush. I would mention it to your pediatrician.
Some white is normal.

My sisters baby had this and it was thrush. Sometimes its just the milk. Just call the dr. and let them look at it to determine what it is.

If you can wipe it away with a wash cloth, then its just residue.. if it doesnt wipe away then its thrush and the peds can give you a script for meds that will make it go away in a couple of days.

ds has that too, it's formula/ bm residue. you can tell if it wipes off

It's fairly common, especially if your DC formula feeds. Just try to wipe it off, it's probably formula.

if its a thick coating it could be thrush. dd had this and had 2 go on antibiotics. ask your ped to chk on it

yup yup
AJ had it when she was younger. It looks like left over milk but it doesnt go away.
They gave her antibotics for a week.. it went away after that. I didnt take her in for this.. they noticed it at her 2month visit and gave me the antibotics. No biggie.
Said they can get it because their immune system hasn't yet balanced.
ETA: they told us not to try to wipe it as it will only spread the thrush and can make her sick. *shrug* Just take your baby to the doc if you're curious. But honestly it doesnt hurt them and its very curable.
