Who do you use for homeowners insurance?
Right now we have Hartford but I feel they are kinda high. I'm wondering if we could do better. We pay $1860 for the year.

We bought our policy through Geico, but Occidental is the actual insurance company. We had a sewer backup recently and they were very quick to send out the adjuster and pay out on the policy.

Who do you use for homeowners insurance?
we use statefarm very reasonable but I am thinking my house must be much smaller cause I pay less than half of what you pay

I just spent a lot of time calling companies to get quotes - State Farm, Nationwide, Allstate, Geico, Travelers and Liberty Mutual.
They all offered things slightly different so you have to be careful when comparing policies (ie: you don't want a really high deductible).
In the end, we are going with Allstate for homeowners, auto and jewelry.

mine's about the same amount per year. well they kind of go up every year and i have to watch them close! LOL. state farm.
ETA- i could probably save $ if i combined auto but i like geico for that.

You can get a pretty big discount for combining. We will actually pay less for all 3 policies combined with 1 insurance carrier than if we had just the property coverage alone and no other coverage.

We had State Farm but were dropped after Sandy.
We have Narraganset Bay now, and I used Jen Jennings, an agent on here, to help me find a policy.

DW had a really big problem before we met with state farm. But I may consider it one day anyway! I wish i could combine w/ geico but the last time i called they gave me a ridic homeowners cost

I have had nothing but great experiences with Chris Lucas from Allstate. His office is in Bellmore. I've saved close to $700/year simply from switching my car insurance (originally had Geico) to Allstate, and got even more discounts for bundling our policy when we bought a house!

Who do you use for homeowners insurance?
We use Statefarm. They were substantially cheaper than any other insurance company for us. It's hard to compare what other people are paying because there are so many factors with your insurance. I would just call up and get quotes from everyone.
