Re: Who has a Tivo?????

We have Tivo. We love it!!! We can watch tv and record at the same time. We have a switch in the back of our tv that allows us to do that. I have no idea what it is called though. I'd have to ask the hubby. It's great though. I have the lifetime subscription, so it's a one time fee. I highly recommend it if you aren't home often or go away a lot.
Yeah I need to know if my TV has this switch

After the subscription runs out - then it basically turns into a VCR. You would need to select what date, time, channel you want to record.
With the subscription it downloads all that info off of their network and automatically figures out what to tape and when.

Re: Who has a Tivo?????
The lifetime subscription is only good for the box that it was purchased for. The only time they will transfer the subcription is if the box you had was defective. So if you buy a new one you have to buy a membership for that box.
If you buy a single tuner Tivo, you can bypass watching what is being recorded by putting the box on standby. If your TV has multiple video inputs splice the cable wire from the wall and put one in the Tivo and the other in video 2.
Tivo used to be a client and I learned a lot about it so if you have any questions FM me.

Right, but the pause, FWD and RWD functions will still work with live TV.

She's a Tivo expert! Yeah, we split another connection into our TV thats how we can watch and record at the same time. What else are you supposed to do with a TV with 7 inputs? hehehe

Re: Who has a Tivo?????
Wow this is some serious TiVo talk!
I have TiVo, going on 4 years now. We have 2 lines coming in and can record 2 shows at one time.
I can't live w/o it. Season Pass is my best friend. Yesterday alone I taped, ER, Gray's & Survivor. Watched the office & deal or no deal.
I recommend it to all my friends. Hay if you want to say I recommended to you I can get $100 off my bill.
We got HD but w/o TiVo because we only got HD for sports and we don't tape that we watch it live.
