My friend's business in Commack. I feel so bad for her!
My parents were also out in Huntington as of yesterday. They drove down to VA to stay with us for a few days. Hoping their electricity and heat is back on by next week.

I asked for specific information as to what was taking my area so long and she wouldn't give it to me. I kick myself for not asking where the nearest crew was but felt so hopeless after she said, "I cannot give you an estimate of restoration."

Co-worker in Plainedge was told the very earliest Saturday but not to get hopes up.
IL's in N. Wantagh are still out.
Family in Westbury (Salisbury section) is still out.

Amityville just north of Merrick and I'm still out. I pray we can get enough gas for the generator we just got because we have no where else to stay anymore. If it was just dh and I I wouldn't mind sleeping in the cold but I have a baby, a toddler and our tenant is 93 so keeping the three of them warm is a must.

I saw that they opened up some more shelters in Nassau. Probably better to go there than to freeze!

I'm still out in Levittown and I am being told now hopefully by Thanksgiving! Levittown has the highest number of outages right now (over 4,000). We had NO flooding and people who have been flooded have gotten it back before us!!!

Baldwin Harbor here, was told power is ready to be turned back on but they have to inspect everyone's panels to make sure no house fires happen!!! I'll be waiting forever!!! And don't get me started with this snow!!!!

My heart goes out to all these people too. I had no power for eight days and was about to lose it. I can't believe this is still going on with the outages. Mine was an easy fix, yet took eight days. There is a big Newsday article today about the problems with LIPA. What a mess!!!!!
