Why are Pilates classes so expensive?
I want to do Pilates but the places near me charge so much money. Why? I tried at home with dvds but I can't work out at home.

Re: Why are Pilates classes so expensive?
Most pilates classes are fairly small I think that is the main reason they are so $$.

also, I think the instructor training is costly and if they have the pilates equipment, that can also add to the high cost.
have you ever thought of hot yoga?

Maybe you could join a gym that offers unlimited classes? Even if they only have pilates once a week you could find other classes you enjoy!
One of my favorite things about my gym is the unlimited classes- I've discovered so many new workouts I love!

Re: Why are Pilates classes so expensive?
I charge b/c its so expensive but its helpful to me. I think b/c its designed to also help injured people, therefore their training must be $$ as someone mentioned.
Initially, I went for it b/ I was impressed by the background of the 2 instructors at my studio.
I've tried large group classes as well and def notice a difference in the smaller, studio setting

Re: Why are Pilates classes so expensive?
How expensive are they?
I go to hot yoga and a lot of people consider that expensive too, however, if you get an unlimited class plan, it is more cost effective.
I also look at it as the $$$$$ I am spending a month on hot yoga, I could easily be pi$$ing away on things like Target and take-out.
It's my ONE major splurge for myself.
You could spend just as much if you see a therapist, if not more.
