WHy do people have to be so insensitive?
As some of you may know, I was trapped on a cruise with my FIL, MIL, SIL, her husband and their 17 month old son for 11 days.
Also, as some of you know, 2 days before we left I had a miscarriage.
So, why is it that while we were on vacation, must I be told by SIL and her husband, MORE THAN ONCE, "wait until you have kids, you'll see what it's like!" with a bunch of sarcasm added....
I didn't say anything and everyone else was quiet....
Ummmm, are you the biggest a$$holes I ever met? yeah, you are.....but thanks, I really appreciate the reminder....

UGH! that stinks that people can be so insensitive! my mom has a similar story
so... my mom actually had 2 miscarriages. one before me, one after me, and then she had my younger sister. SOO after the second one, my grandmom ( dads mom) told her " well, i guess you jsut cant' carry boys!"
my mom was like "WHAT?!?!" she said miscarriages are something you only REALLY understand if you've had one, and its crazy how some people just dno't "get" it and can be so insensitive!

That's disgusting. I can't believe, knowing what you both just went through, she couldn't curb her comments.
I would have either burst into tears to shut her up, or told her to go to H*ll!

That's terrible. Too bad SIL is totally self absorbed. Even stil, she should have shown some tact and kept her comments to herself!
So sorry about your miscarriage
When my sister lost her baby at nine weeks, one of her co-workers commented "Well, it's not like you don't have any other children and you weren't that far along that it should be a big deal".... I would have hauled off and belted her!

Wow...You are a much bigger person than me because I would have retorted with something nasty, like "are you that self absorbed that you don't realize that what your saying is completely insensitive? My current situation is hard enough to deal with without the added reminders you keep rudely dishing.. but thanks for the info, i'll be sure to try and keep that in mind since it's coming from the "mother of the year and all"...
I dont care who would have been offended by it...
