why do the receptionists in the Drs. office need to be so nasty?
So I live in a VERY steep/hilly area, and my house is set high on a steep hill which means I have a ski slope for a driveway.
We are supposed to have bad weather tonight, snow mixed with icey garbage, which means I will not be able to get down the driveway until the rain washes it away tomorrow morning.
I have a very early OB appointment, which if the above all happens, I will not make it to. Especially since the road I have to take is especially windy, hilly and steep.
So, I called to see if there was anything open later in the day, or if that particular Dr. had any other openings this week. It's required in my practice I see all the Drs. before I have the baby, and I only have two left, her and another Dr. I also have all my other appointments scheduled already up to my due date.
So, I call, explain the situation and the girl asks me "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" So I asked her if I could get in later in the day, and she tells me no. I said okay, I guess then if I don't make it in tomorrow, I'll just see the next Dr. at my next appointment. She goes on and on about how I cannot skip an appointment and she'll try to get me in with another Dr. (I've already seen them all, and want to make sure I've met them all in case one of them delivers the baby!) So I said no thank you, I want to see this particular Dr. because I haven't met her. She then repeats "Welll, what do you want me to do about it" She then lectures me on how I shouldn't be concerned about the weather because they are always wrong.  So again, I calmly just said, okay, if I can't make it tomorrow, I'll come back in 2 weeks at my next appointment.
She was sooooooo rude and nasty!

I actually have lovely ladies at my practice but I totally understand. What is the big deal? Just change the appt!
