Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
Our house has 4 bedrooms, 3 are decent size one is pretty tiny. One is ours, the other is an office and the other is a guest room. the tiny one, only has a little vanity and a mirror in it. DH is saying that the tiny room, should be the babies room. Umm, once you have a baby, no one wants to stay over!!!! Why can't i have a decent size nursury, he's driving me crazy

Re: Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
Believe me, I can sympathize. I'm having issues with DH here too. I agree with you. Why squeeze the baby into a tiny room and save the big one for guests that may or may not use it a couple of times a year?? Makes no sense. boys!!

What if you made the tiny room the office? Then you still have a larger guest room and a larger nursery.
I agree with you though I think having the tiny room as the guest room is the best idea.

the other thing that kills me, is that we never use the office! Its like a filing room, i'm never on the computer, and DH just uses his laptop. The other problem with the little room is that there is a window, a closet door, a door that leads up to teh attic and a stand up radiator, so there is no useable corners and we'll have to block the door to the attic to fit everything in.

Re: Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
Scott did this...we made Molly's nursery the small room. Now at 2 years old she can't have a twin size bed or many toys. All of her toys are in the LR. She can't really play in her room at all. We invested in having a mural painted in her room and now we have to move her to the bigger room and paint over the beautiful lady bug tea party in her room. It was just not a good idea. Get an air mattress and let guests sleep over in the small room. I wish I had fought harder on this issue.

Re: Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
I'm with you...I think your DH should let you use one of the bigger rooms for the nursery. It sounds like too much BS to cram all that baby stuff into that little room. Can you move the office into the little room?

that can easily be arranged!!! he's at sea for 3 weeks at a time. His theory is that the little room will permanently be the "nursery" and when this peanut gets to the age of 1 or 2 he/she will get the guest room, and then the next baby will get the nursery. Evenutally the attic is going to be the office/playroom. I'm just mad that there will hardly be any room to move in there, and no closet, since the one in there i have to use because the master bedroom doesn't have one!

Re: Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
Its so much easier IMO to put the baby in the bigger room from the get go then to in 1-2 years move everything, have to paint again, change everything etc. Its just a big PITA

Re: Why does DH have to be so unreasonable?
Just recruit someone to paint the room that YOU want to be the nursery and then your DH will have to live with it
Sorry, I know I am not helping. I have a DH who wanted to make our office into a nursery so we can preserve the guest room. I told him that it would be easier to take the few things out of the guest room than take the three bookcases, wrap around desk, hanging wall cabinets, etc, out of the office. Besides, we only have a twin sized bed in the guest room anyway. Shall we tell couples to come one at a time?
I think our DH's are just as nervous as us but they can't admit it because it is not manly
