Will you/have you pierce your baby's ears?

If so when (how old) and where?

I had mine done as a very small baby at the Dr's office, but some think that is too young.

I will as soon as I can..maybe 6 months or so..I will have the ped. do it.

My mom didn't pierce mine til I was 9, and as a result, I trouble for years with sensitivity...I could only wear pure gold or I would get a reaction. Even now, I can't wear cheap earrings or I will start getting irritated. It's a PITA.

If I have a girl it won't be until she is around 7 or 8, probably for Communion.

I pierced Abby's ears at 6 months. I would have done it sooner but she was sick at her four month visit so we couldn't. I have never heard of a girl who resented their parents for having their ears pierced when they were babies. Abby doesn't even know they are there.

We will be doing it very early maybe the first drs visit

Did it at 4 month with DD with no regrets.
I remember getting mine done at 6 or 7 years old at the mall and SCREAMING from the pain.
My DD sat there at the pediatricians ofice with a smile on her face after it was done. They froze the ear so there was NO PAIN involved. DD also lost her hair by 1 month old so it was funny looking and I wanted the earrings to make her look girlish and not like one of the Three Stooges. LOL
I think its all preference..I love little baby girls with ears pierced..its actually VERY common in Spanish culture to get them as soon after birth. Never had an issue with the earrings and DD looks adorable at 2 years old with them

If I have a girl, I'll have it done when she asks (so when she's older).

Asap, probably 3m - definitely before the baptism

Its a big part of italian culture, and she should be grateful it involves a gun and not an ice cube, a needle and some thread lol

I plan on getting it done as soon as the docter will do it. so probally between 3-6motnhs.

Nah... gonna let her choose to do it when she's older. Who knows, in 2025, pierced ears could be totally lame.. wouldn't want my child to be an outcast

I was 5 when I had mine done with my parents at the mall and I still remember it. I would wait until around then.

No, simply because I'm not a huge fan of the look--for my girls anyway; on others I don't think twice about it. When they become old enough to want them, I will take them.

I got mine pierced pretty young--toddler age--and I had problems forever: from losing the backs constantly, to being allergic to anything but 14K, to really disliking them, taking them out, having them close over, repoking the holes periodically, etc. etc. (I don't think I really started wearing earrings constantly until age 18) so I don't believe piercing early necessarily remedies any of that...

My sister got hers pierced at 12--she didn't end up in therapy as a result.

I'm waiting until she asks. I had mine done in 2nd grade.

I am uncomfortable sleeping with earrings in so I can't imagine that for my infant.

Im having a and will definately have them pierced as early as possible, before 3 months.

I had mine pierced @ 3 months and never had any problems because I was unaware of them. IMO when you get them later on the kids are more aware and always touching them/playing with them.

i want to do it when shes a baby like 3-6 months at the peds office, but DH wants to wait till shes older and let her decide if she wants them.

If I had a girl yes, probably before 1 year

She will be 6 weeks this week and I'm waiting for the Dr. to say OK and will get them done!

My mother had mine done early, at around 3 months. I think it looks cute, so probably around then.

I had my first DD's done at the ped's office at 3 months. I will most likely do it again at 3 or 4 months for this baby too.
