DS is 2.5, I don't think we will - he doesn't really get the idea of Easter yet. Maybe next year.

Re: Will you paint Easter eggs with your toddler?

I won't
I haven't
I find it a waste of eggs. We dont eat hard boiled eggs and we don't general eat eggs much at all.

Case in point, I only buy a half dozen and they last over a month! I usually have to FIND something to use them on.

So for us, why bother.

But this isn't JUST Easter its Fiesta too so we have TONS of carscarones which are empty eggs filled with confetti and colored all sorts of colors sealed with tissue paper on the open side and used to crack over folks heads. ALL the time.

I have 6 dozen in my garage waiting for the trip to Dad's Thankfully since they are a huge part of Fiesta you can buy them in the grocery store premade for about $1 a dozen. Gonna get another 6 dozen before we leave.

My easter memories are my very elderly short grandma in her smock walking around oh so coyly then in a slow old person way cracking that egg over your head (in her hand) and rubbing in the confetti into your head. I can't wait for AJ to join in the tradition - Grandpa better look out. Toddlers are NOTORIOUS for not be able to/or knowing HOW to bust the egg first, so she'll probably break it ON his head Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: when she gets older we'll collect the eggs all year if we have to (given I dont eat as many) and then we die the empty shells, fill and use as ammo! LOL

Re: Will you paint Easter eggs with your toddler?

absolutely!! we can wait.

it'll be my son (18 mos), my nieces (3,8,10,13) and my two godsons (8 and 11)

I already have the egg coloring.

we'll probably do 2 dozen!!!

I may have dh put plastic on the floors this way they can mess up whatever and it won't make a difference!!!!
