working moms, how do you gently wake your babies in the mornings in order to get out of the house?

I'm going to have to start to wake DS up almost 2 hours before his usual wake time. I feel so guilty about it - how do you wake them up?

I try my best NOT to wake her up. I usually dream feed DD at some point between 2-5am and then quietly take her out of her crib at 5:45 to leave for my mom's house. She's not hungry (because of the dream feeding) and she usually stays asleep. Once we get to my mom's house, she stays in the carrier until she wakes up - the time can vary from 6:30-7:30 usually.
DD is 3 months now and I'm not really sure how this is going to work out when I go back to work (I'm a teacher) in the fall since I'll have her in the convertible car seat by then.

you're lucky, unfortunately, ds would never stay asleep if I tried to take him out of the crib.

I waited until the last possible second to get him, and made sure the car was packed and all ready to go so all I had to do was get him dressed and leave.
I kept the lights low, and I always went in with a sippy of milk to help ease the transition. I would change him slowly and gently and put his jacket on if necessary and then right into the car (still with the milk sippy). Sometimes he would fall back asleep, sometimes not.
