working mom's of 2 or more... exercise question post 2 c-sections
Those who work who don't necessarily like to wake up super early... when do you work out? How many days a week? For how long? What is your routine?
I have to say I really haven't focused too much on making time for this b/c I want to maximize my time with the kids and to ensure we are organized in other areas so as not to be too chaotic. However, how sad when someone asks you "so when are you due?" and you had your last child FIFTEEN MONTHS ago. Very pathetic on my part. I keep the kids very busy and active, mommy and me, we go for family walks, but my walking at a toddler's pace is clearly not enough. I have a very small frame, so I'm all belly... my arms and legs are sticks... so the stomach stands out b/c I'm not well distributed and I'm short. I had 2 c-sections within 14 months of each other and I still have bad "burning" by the incision area (especially when I run or contract my ab muscles) so I can't be overly aggressive upfront. Not sure if that is normal or if I should be discussing with the doctor who did my last section. Any tips for making that awful burn stop? It can be so painful I almost passed out!

I SAH right now, but I have the same build as you, very skinny arms , face , legs etc, just belly. I HATE ab work, but I am 5 months PP and I'm going to NEED to do this . i'm not looking forward to it. I do take the kids for walks in the stroller but it's only like twice a week bc I'm tired . I am being lazy bc I know winter is coming. if summer were here I would be much more motivated to work out.
I have sharp incision pain once in a while, but it's not from excercising

when do you work out? *Just got back into a routine, so i go mondays after I drop DD off at school and DH is home to watch the baby. Tues and Thurs nights after DH gets home. Sat mornings when my parents watch the girls and Sun morning when DH is home with the girls.
How many days a week? * anywhere from 3-5 days a week but it will be more because I'm training to teach
For how long? * 45min - 1 hour
What is your routine? * I take spin classes

I want to do 3-5 days of something. Not sure with my "injury" that a spin class or any class where you have to keep up with an instructor/group would be right for me. I own my own equipment (treadmill, weights, bands, balance equip, eventually buying a new eliptical) so I do not have gym membership. I tried doing Bikram yoga a few months ago... OMG, the burning by the incision. I left in tears and the instructor had no sympathy. I used to be a competitive athlete, hard core with work outs all my life... now I am not sure where to begin. I hear take it slow, but I have never taken it slow.. I'm not sure how to even do that.

ALWAYS go at your own pace. I had 2 c-sections as well. I went back after 6 weeks with each one and just took it easy. I didn't push myself at all. Sometimes to this day (1 year after last c/s) I will have some pain if I push too hard.

DS goes to sleep at 7PM. When I get home from work after picking him up from daycare I feed him, playtime (sometimes during playtime I do a quick once over on the house b/c I like to keep it neat... part of my excersize LOL) bathtime, milk, brush his teeth and bed
Then I go on the treadmill for 30 mins. DH may run an errand or pick up dinner. We eat together around 7:45ish (give or take). Hard to cook so during the week is leftovers, easy dishes, or take out.
If I don't work out I'm cleaning. That's another workout Ha!
