Would it bother you if...
your dh's b-day was coming up and your mil calls you and tells you she wants to give him a surprise party at her house and TELLS you the date it will be on? Not even asking if I, his wife would like to do this or what date is good for us, if we have plans that weekend? nothing.
**Don't laugh, BUT this party already came and went but it just came up talking to a friend and it still bugs me to this day! Just wondering if it's just me or if dear mil  was out of line.

It wouldn't bother me that she threw a party...it would Pi$$ me off that she didn't askif we were busy or not or if we already had plans. MIL loves to compete w/ me. Oh well...I just ignore it & vent w/ dh.

Yes, it would. It would have been nice to ask for your input since YOU are now the woman in his life! Even if she didn't accept any of your suggestions, it would have been nice to be asked.

OMG...she actually did that?!?!
Oh, I would totally be annoyed and would've come up with some sort of excuse as to why that date was not good for me...maybe I wouldn't have been able to flat out tell her that she was out of line...but, I wouldn't let her go through with HER plan.

Yes that would bother me. I hate the fact that my MIL wants to have a cake for him at her house. What's wrong with me getting a cake and having it at my house?
