Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
DH and I are beyond broke but need to get some kind of small SUV that will accomodate 2 car seats. Many of our friends and family have had Toyotas for years and never had any problems.
They are running awesome lease deals right now----like under $200 a month.
I'm so torn. Thoughts?

DH and I were just talking about this! Are they even manufacturing right now? I thought they froze all production - but I guess there are still cars on the lot.
Honestly, as long as I was assured the car wasnt affected, I would! Toyota has had a great track record for years, #1 selling cars forever!

Also, have you thought about Ford? Ford is doing VERY well right now! Ford cars are top rated and affordable

Yes, I would. I would have no problem with getting a Toyota now, especially if there are great deals.

Nope. I'm not the paranoid type but they have experienced some serious issues lately that have led to SEVERAL fatalities and god forbid I was one of them.

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
Yup, totally would. The company is being EXTRA careful with what they put out there.. probably the safest time to buy a Toyota (just like the safest time to fly is right after a terrorist attack because security is extra-heightened!)

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
I have a 2009 Toyota Camary and have no complaints. I also have no complaints about how Toyota has handled this siutation. I recently took it in for servicing and they did everything even as just a safety precaution. My car also handles better in bad weather than some 4WD SUV's, which was awesome this season.
All car companies have issues. If everyone remembers with SUV's there were/are roll-over risks, at one point Ford suffered from all their tires exploding.
I'm not saying go put yourself into danger but that there are always recalls and manufacturing issues with all types and brands of cars.
Also, Toyota's SUV's haven't had the problems. I have friends who have Rav-4's and LOVE it! I test drove the RAv-4 and it wasn't for me. I also test Drove the Ford Edge and liked it..but still liked the Camary over the Edge.

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
100,000% yes.
I bought my first Toyota when I graduated college in '03. I still have it--love my Toyota Echo!
When we had DD, we bought the Highlander, and we love it so much!!!
I wouldn't hesitate at all to buy another one--I can honestly say that over the years, all I've had to do to my Toyota is change the oil, brakes, and do routine tune-ups. But it's got almost 90,000 miles on it and it still runs like the day I got it!

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
I would. I have two Camrys now and have no issues.
We will end up getting cars that are safe, priced well and fit our lifestyle.
The deals are sick right now.
If it's under warranty I have no issues.

Nope I wouldn't- particularly with babies in the car, not worth it in my opinion.

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
We were all set to lease the new highlander in May before arrives. Now No Way!! I will just not take a chance. I feel they waited until too many people were hurt to start the recalls. I just don't like how they are doing business right now. Especially since I heard a story on the news Sunday. If I can find a link I will post it. If it were just DH & I, we may have considered it but w/ no way! I rather get something else just for piece of mind.

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla and let me tell you what a PAIN IN THE A$$ THESE RECALLS HAVE BEEN!!
P.S. I had a '91 Toyota corolla and it died so I had to get a new car and my husband and I were SO SUPER excited to get a new one.
Since the DAY we got this car its been nothing but issues. We got it in July and two weeks later they e-mailed me a letter and brake recall. Then last month wiith the acceleration recall. Its ridiculous!! Also they *SAY* they fixed the brake issue but I swear there is still something wrong. Sometimes I will step in the brakes and literally THE CAR KEEPS GOING. I brought it BACK IN TO THE DEALER and they said "oh no, the car is fine". I feel like they were brushing me off. I am having this baby in 5 months and I am scared to death to put my baby in there.

Re: Would u buy/ lease a Toyota now?
i would look into it and seriously consider it. not sure how small of an SUV you are thinking. consider fitting two rearfacing carseats and a double stroller plus all the other gear. IMO, DH's Mazda Tribute is small enough for 2 kids and we prefer our minivan! Plenty of people feel a small suv is fine enough on size though.
