i would and i have - we and our friends are about the same age, and i have found that there are generally more adults than kids at those parties, so socializing is not an issue.

If they are close friends and we don't see them often yes. Most of the one's we are invited to are mostly family and friends, not a lot of other kids.

Ihave and will only go for good friends. the last kids party we went to, I was sooo bored. My freinds MIL was griling me on when am I going to have a babay- and it really p$%%^ me off. This was not the time or place to ask me. I will only go for my best friends daughter who I have known since the day she was born, and I have known my best friend since I was 11 .

Generally I have not, if they were for kids specifically. If it's a family party in the house for a child's bday, we would still go but in a place designated for children's activities, we really had no interest in going if we did not have children.
I agree, but we don't get invited to these anyway .......I admist it's not my favorite thing to do on a Saturday afternoon, but I wouldn't skip a party for a friend just b/c I don't have any kids .........

Yes.
Before we had kids we went to everyone's child's birthday parties. I always felt that part of being friends with someone is celebrating the things they ask you to celebrate.
I brought my camera to every event & took pictures for people. It was a way of getting out of small talk about breastfeeding, etc. Afterwards, I'd send the mom the photos. I didn't realize until I had my own kids how much they appreciated it. It's hard to capture the day & take photos when you're trying to be a good hostess.
I would also help the parents out with 2 kids. Everyone could always use a break from their kids so they can eat.
We started some interesting conversations with the ones that didn't have run after their children...things like "If there was a fight between Wife A & Wife B, who do you think would win?" "Wife B. She has a lot of pent up anger." "How about Wife B & Wife C?" "Wife C. She's very scrappy." Then we moved on to the kids...
It's like being at a wedding with a sucky DJ & being stuck at the old people's table. You can b1tch about it or you can chat up your tablemates about their lives & get them on the dance floor. IMO, fun is what you make of it.

if it is family/friends and they wanted us there then we would go
considering we dont have kids, it is not common for us to be invited..but if i had a close friend who needed me there to help etc. then id go in a heartbeat
but considering you guys are always invited to kiddie parties, i think that is weird. sounds like a ploy for a gift (unless its family).
i dont think id ever expect my child-less friends to come to a kiddie party

DH and I have done it many times for our close friends and family and think nothing of it. A little bit of playing with the kids, a little bit of time with the adults, time for DH and I only in the party.
We always found a way to have fun.
Same with DH and I

I have invited single friends/relatives so they dont feel left out. I think if you are invited its because you are special to the person.
